RE: Toilet tank flange repositioning?

My flange slips inside the pipe and can be rotated. I just remove the screws to do it.

RE: Portable Waste Tanks

We have the Barker 4 wheel tote, I think it's a 32 gallon or close to it. I wait till the black and gray tanks are fairly full. Then I dump the black tank first into the tote and go dump it. Next the gray water and go dump it. A little will remain in the tote, so I just flush the tote out with water at the dump station and it's good to go. I have pulled ours behind the car to the dump station many times and depending how far to the dump station some times pull it over by hand. If your in sand be careful how full you fill the tote as the narrow wheels do not pull good in sand. Depends on your type of camping, but I would say don't go smaller than a 25 gallon tote. I've been using this tote for about 10 years.

RE: Ugly Encounter at Campground

We had several fellow campers cutting through our site this last winter. They came through day and night, sometimes middle of the night we would hear folks talking loudly as they walked through. One fell over my Sat dish in the dark. I don't mind the folks that cut through on the edges of the site, but many would walk through within 4' or 5' of the RV when we were not out. I guess part of the problem may have been my fault as we took a site near the restroom so they cut through to get there. But with 50 years camping under our belt I am seeing more and more people cut through sites. Just a sign of the times.

RE: Now the price on the F 250 gasser?

See if you can find someone to supply you with a Ford X-Plan Pin number. This will allow special pricing plus you still get all incentives Ford offers. If you use a X-Plan I would suggest you sell you present vehicle out right rather than do a trade in.

3 year old Winne leak finally found

Well, after having the Winnebago dealers try to find my drivers side leak on our 35L in the upper corner over the last 3 years from the day we bought it new I figured I may as well tear into it and try to fix it. Took the inside trim off, couldn't see anything. Took the black rubber strip over the windshield off, still didn't see any area that looked like it might leak. Decided to take the wing off as I call it, the long piece that attaches on the side to cover the edge of the windshield. Sure as heck near the top that had been covered by the wing there were two places about a 1/2" long that looked as if they have never been caulked. The wife went inside to watch and I hit the area with a stream of water and right quick she said water coming in. Sealed the two places and didn't find any other places that leaked. Being the leak was under the "wing" I wonder how many more years the dealers would have looked and not found the leak. Sometimes I have to wonder about these so called RV repair dealers.

RE: used motorhome tires

I was shopping for 235/80R22.5 a few weeks ago. Mine have good tread but 7 years old. One shop said he would allow me $75 per old tire. He sells them mostly for spares. I went around and looked at his used tire rack. Tires not as good looking as mine were marked $225.

RE: Water's Edge Campgrounds, Michigan and It's UP?

There are plenty here in Michigan. Here are just a few that I can think of.
Mill Creek Campground - Mackinaw City.
Peterson Bridge Campground - Wellston
Lake Margrethe State Forest Campground - Grayling
White River Campground - Montague
Here's a good link to search by City of where you might be camping.
http://www.michigan.org/Places-to-Go/Locations/Michigan-Cities-A-Z/Default.aspx
Algonac State Park in lower Michigan is another right on the river where you can fish and watch the very large boats (some a 1000 ft long)

RE: Sleep number mattress issue(s)

We bought a Sleep Number bed for the house a few years back. It had a solid section of foam maybe about 3 to 4 inches wide between the chambers. With it in place it was nearly impossible to roll to the other side. Yet we both seemed to end up against the center foam, I guess you would say we rolled inward. At that time I called the company and they said to try removing the center foam. We did, but no improvement we both ended up against each other in the middle. We sent is back before the trial period was up. Friends had one and complained of the same thing.

RE: Need new GPS

This is interesting as just last week my Tom Tom went a little crazy. It kept telling me in 80 years to turn left, I knew it was wrong and didn't turn. A few minutes later it said in 80 yards turn left again and then in 80 yards turn right, none of which I did. For miles it kept up the 80 yard thing. We finally turned it off.. Later turned it on and it worked fine. When I know the area I am in and know the way it's one thing, but in a strange area that 80 yard business might get me in a lot of trouble. So I to am looking at replacing our GPS.

RE: loss of hearing

After many years of hearing loss I now rely on the visual indicator. I wear hearing aids, but many times on long trips become tired of the motorhome noise . Most of the noise is heard by me as I think a normal hearing person would hear it, but some sounds the hearing aids work a little to good on. Many times as long as my wife is along I turn the hearing aids off. I can hear her just fine, but I have a problem with them turned off of not hearing outside sounds especially sirens. So I depend on her to alert me. I guess my thoughts are if one can't hear the blinker, what else can't they hear (sirens) that might be more important than the blinker.

RE: Electric water heater element??

What you are calling a 110 volt switch is most likely a 12 volt DC switch which trips a relay and supplies 110 AC to the water heater element. So just because the switch is lighted doesn't mean there is AC to the element.

RE: ODB 2 scanner

For a little more you can get a ScanGaugeII. It will give a lot of data including trans temperature for most vehicles.
You would have to lockup the description of the code on internet. The HF model appears to give that info.

RE: Refrigerator fins icing up

We have a 4 door Norcold and we do not have any problem with the fins in the fridge icing up, even when used for several months at a time. How ever the freezer is another story with ice buildup. The left side with the ice maker builds up heavy frost in 4 to 6 weeks and needs defrosting. The right side freezer can easily go 3 to 5 months without needing to be defrosting.
