RE: Bunk bed rails for young kids

We have used something like this in the past - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dream-On-Me-Safety-Bed-Guard-in-Blue/19201916 We still have it in the RV just in case it is needed for a guest.

RE: Disappointed with Camping World/GS tactics in Raleigh, NC

I am perplexed at this thread. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the first time I heard a competitor provide erroneous information about another company. Saying CW bought all the space at a show or is preventing another company from participating doesn't make good business sense. The financial expense would be very large, the additional sales would be negligible, and the public opinion of the shows in the future would be damaged. If I wanted to go see one dealers inventory I would go to their lot, and save the $10. I suspect we have a few businesses who made a decision not to attend a show and they are trying to blame a competitor for the decision they made. I suspect the dealer who didn't attend simply couldn't justify the expense.

RE: Dumb Newbie Questions

There is no such thing as a dumb question, except the one that isn't asked. Personally, I would fill the tank the day I was leaving. Also, I have always used very good water filters on my RVs. Perhaps an over-kill sometimes, but better safe than sorry. Also, please use a pressure reducer. Good Luck and Travel Safely!

RE: Good Sam or Coach-Net

I received a call about GS ERS, and was told there are 3 programs. I have looked and I can only find the one. Does anyone know of coverage options?

RE: I love CW, but...

I have noticed the prices at the store and on line aren't always the same. Is it because of the overhead of the stores, and sometimes you get great deals which you pass on to consumers via the web site? I was shopping for one item recently which was $55 at the store and $30 via the web site. I understand the overhead of the stores, and appreciate the investment CW has made.

RE: Roadside Assistance

I don't know if this is possible, but might be worth looking into ... I suspect many RVers have a spare tire, but may not check the air pressure until the tire is needed. Is it possible for the service trucks to carry an air tank or compressor? Yes, I know from first hand experience, and now carry my own compressor.

Fort Wilderness in August Recommendation

Hello, We are going to Fort Wilderness in August, and need recommendations for a site. We will be traveling in a motorhome and tow a car. While a pull-through would be nice - it isn't of major concern. We will travel with our 12 yr old daughter and 2 (3 yr and 1 yr old) yellow labs. Having a pet friendly site is important. Also, being close to transportation, activities, bus stop will be a plus as well. I will have an auto-start installed on the generator, so I wouldn't need to be close to the pet sitting facility. I would appreciate your recommendation of sites and loops. This is the first time we are going to WDW in an RV, and I want to make it a great trip for my family. Thanks, Taylor

RE: Tow Dollies and Bicycle Help

I ended up buying one of these, and it has worked well on two trips so far. http://www.vtowing.com/BikeCarrierAccessories.aspx The 75090 works well, but wished the drop was a little lower.

RE: 50 amp extension cords

I carry a 50 amp 30' extension cord. Used it on the last trip. Could have moved the RV if I didn't have it, but it was level and just easier to pull out the cord.

RE: Slide outs, out or in when stored?

I leave them in while in storage, but I have only had it for 3 months.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

I washed the motorhome yesterday morning, and today it rained - twice. go figure. At least I figured out a way to end the drought we have been experiencing.

RE: Tire Pressure when parked for a long time

If they are two years old... I would call the manufacturer of your RV, and find out where on the frame to jack it up. I would try to put it on floor jacks to keep the weight off the tires. This is what I did for my TT over the winters. Then make sure you have good tire covers to protect them from UV rays. jmho.

RE: Tire Pressure when parked for a long time

What are the age of the tires? If they are currently around 4 yrs old or older, I don't know if I would worry about it. You will be getting close to life expectancy in two years anyway.

Flying J RV Frequent Fueler Advantage Card

I was very happy to see the benefits available with the Flying J RV Frequent Fueler Advantage Card. However, I believe it will be deactivated if it is not used for 6 months. Are there many RVers who put their RV to bed for the winter, and don't use it for 6 - 8 months? I typically have mine winterized at the end of October, and plan the next trip in the April / May timeframe. I was thinking a 12 month inactivity expiration period might make more sense. What are your thoughts?

RE: Tow Dollies and Bicycle Help

I also have a Kar kaddy SS and an '03 Honda Accord. I am looking to carry 3 bikes. I have a hitch on the back of the accord I use when I need to tow the dolly at the campground, etc. I think the bike rack will hit the ground if I go over any bumps when the car is on the tow dolly. I was looking at a Dual Hitch Receiver, but am not sure if the distance between the coach and the receiver will change at all when going over bumps. If the distance will always remain the same - I think I will go with the Dual Hitch Receiver. Does anyone know? I liked the rating of the Roadmaster, but it is designed to only be used with a tow bar.

"Sliding" Window Problem

A friend has a problem with two of his side windows, and I am hoping someone has had this problem. I think the windows are Hehr 5901 and 5902 windows. The stationary part of two windows looks like it has actually moved back a bit. I can see the edge of the glass on the front portions of each window. I suspect the window has slid back for one reason or another. I have had Hehr windows in my 3 previous RVs, and never had a complaint with them. I suspect this might just be one of those things. Has anyone had this problem, and how did you fix it? Is there a repair kit to re-seat the window? He can always replace the windows, but why do that if they just need to be re-seated? I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Thanks, Taylor
