RE: Texas-Louisiana-Arkansas

Since everyone is adding "good eating", don't miss eating at McClards BBQ in Hot springs.

RE: From MI To Yellowstone... What to See and Where To Stop ?

Whatever you skip, don't let it be Yellowstone!! It is awesome for you AND the kids. You can do most of it in 3 days, though. We always stay at Fishing Bridge which is right in the middle and you can take a different route each day with your toad. to see all the wonders of that route. Then the last day pack up and head south to the Tetons and enjoy the wonderful hiking and float trips for a couple of days. Cody is a good overnighter to see the museums and old town. Make sure to take the drive in your toad over Beartooth Highway! Y'all have a wonderful time!

RE: Suggestion for RV Camping near Murfreesboro,Arkansas

Hot Springs is a fair distance from the Mine, Do you plan on just making a day trip to the Diamond Mine or staying for a day or two? It has it's own campground but there are also CORP of Engineer campground nearby on Lake Greeson. Crater of Diamond State Park Unfortunately if not boating there is not a lot to do or see on this end of Lake Greeson. Several nice RV Parks in Hot Springs including the KOA, but there are 4 lakes around Hot Springs and some very nice State Parks. Lake Catherine State Park Lake Ouachita State Park Enjoy!

RE: from grand canyon to colorado

Just my opinion...... Have taken my kids all over these areas when they were young. Wish they would still go but they are in their mid thirties now and rarely ever get to go on our road trips anymore, but we still love it. Y'all will enjoy it all. With kids your age I would head straight across 80 to 76 to Denver. This will get you to the Denver area in about 8 hours. You could stop here for the night or head on South to Colorado springs to stop for the night. Near here is Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and other attractions. From there to Canon City to see the Royal Gorge then head south to 160 headed to Durango. You can easily spend 1-3 days here by taking a side trip up the Million Dollar highway (the view) to Ouray (mineral pools to soak and swim in) and Silverton (old mining town). Take the train ride from Durango to Silverton (the kids will love this, as will you). I think you will find giving up a day or two at Grand Canyon worth seeing more sights. Grand Canyon is beautiful but not a lot to do. Also think 1-2 days in RMNP enough to see everything. After coming back from Grand Canyon and coming thru Canyon lands and Arches. They are beautiful, at least Arches is, (I've never been to Canyonlands (on my bucket list). Head East on 70 and wind up going up thru Grandby to come into the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes Park..............................Is it obvious I love Colorado?....................... http://g.co/maps/q8zpn

RE: Problem Finding Bed Linen

Full size fitted sheets fit perfectly if you double them over the mattress on both sides! You can buy them cheap and we rarely use a top sheet you have to tuck in anyway. Usually just have a light throw in summer and heavy quilts/blankets or sleeping bag in winter.

RE: Cross-country RV trip: NYC to San Francisco in 27 days

Agree with some of the previous poster{s}. The Northern Route is awesome. Don't miss Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons.

RE: Any Atkins followers out there?

This diet is awesome. It is easier to do than Atkins to me. And on 2 days a week you can eat what, and as much as you want. The first week is the worst and this is where you have to be strong to get your body where it needs to be. I have to have my veggies. 4 HOUR BODY Even if you don't stick to it, check out the recipes. They are good for low carb ideas.

RE: Southwest and RMNP Colorado Camping - Advice & feedback

If you want remote try....South Mineral CG outside Silverton.....lots of boondocks along the road in and great hiking from CG...IMHO, of course This is a beautiful place between Silverton and Ouray. Great trails above the campground. Plenty to do for several days. Train trip from Silverton. Ouray mineral pools. Great place! trails above South Mineral Campground https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/fNav4xt54vUKp4sHJeW3aZOxyfd_ciRrsE5L60ztFx4?feat=directlink

RE: Looking for Trip Ideas - almost there

We love the Million dollar Highway area in Colorado also. Here are some other ideas: Rocky Mountain National Park Snowy Range (Near Laramie Wyoming) Lander, WY (Sinks Canyon) (Sleeping Bear RV Park) Cody, WY Yellowstone National Park ( Be sure to take toad over the Beartooth highway into Red Lodge, MT) aljavascript:;low at least 2-3 days in YNP alone. Grand Tetons National Park Snake River http://byways.org/explore/byways/2054 http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g60502-d496281-Reviews-Sinks_Canyon_State_Park-Lander_Wyoming.html http://www.codywyomingnet.com/ http://www.yellowstoneparknet.com/ http://www.nps.gov/grte/index.htm http://www.webshots.com/pro/photo/3158247

RE: Where to get odd size sheets?

For the bunks the full fitted sheet can be put on and wrapped around entire bunk pad to cover the entire mattress. It fits perfectly. By the way, I get the jersey knit sheets that have a good stretch.

RE: Near Cheyenne, Wy Late June. Where to go?

Especially if you can get the extra week, definately do YNP! You're too close to miss it. The other suggestions are good, too, but YNP is something everyone needs to see..IMO!!! Agree! Agree! Agree! Don't go that close to YNP and not go experience it. It is Awesome! If you take 287 in Rawlins you will go thru Lander and will go up through Togwotee pass. This is an awesome drive. You will start to see the Grand Tetons many miles away and they get bigger and bigger! Don't miss this! Have fun!

RE: suggestions on what to see and where to stay out West

Somertime says "We love it all. We can even go for three months if we need to. We love nature and hiking and maybe do a little metal dectecting" It sounds like you are pretty much open for all suggestions....... The West is a beautiful place. So much to see. As suggested by a previous poster, I would start down south for April...Grand Canyon, Sedona, Parks in southern Utah, then over to Durango to drive the "million dollar highway" to Silverton and Ouray. (Don't miss riding the train from Silverton to Durango). Then make your way to the Tetons and Yellowstone, Glacier. (Take 3 months, you won't regret it!). Enjoy!

Snowy range is a beautiful area for a "side drive". Near Centennial and Laramie.

RE: Best route - Orlando to Denver at Christmas time?

We have made numerous trips across this great country, and are heading out again just before the holidays. My recommendation, and the route we will go out to Salt Lake through Denver: I-10 to Mobile, short stretch on I-65N to US-98W. US-98W to Jackson, MS. Get on I-20W. I-20W to Fort Worth. Get on US-287N. US-287N to Amarillo, short stretch on I-40 to a bypass around Amarillo. (It may be called 287 North Bypass, or some such.) US-287N again,to US-87N at Dumas, TX. US-87N to I-25N to Denver. This is a fairly short and southern route. Only really big city is Fort Worth, and I have never had any problems there. Of course, anything can happen weatherwise on the the plains. Take a look at a map, and PM me if you want any campground recommendations. Ditto! Amarillo Information Center rest stop is Great! 24 hour security. Free WiFi.
