RE: Office on Wheels

Thanks all. These are just the kind of tips I was looking for. Anyone else? Are there any drawbacks to the marriage of camping + traveling? I sure can't think of any (but then I haven't done it yet).
If your outdoorsy and mechanically inclined no problem. It's fun having new neighbors all the time, going to better weather, living life smaller.

Can we get a name of your cleaner (s)?
I overpaid getting it local.

RE: Do I have a major roof problem?

I just started using RV roof cleaner and treatment and it looks great. I paid $15 a bottle, but what a difference. I should have believed in it long ago.

RE: New TT. What Basics Do I Need?

You get the basics with the RV to go camping (or should). I would wait until after the purchase (pick it up) to buy anything. Then there's a thousand things you could buy, but you'll only need about 1% of what's on the market.

RE: RV Parking City Ordnances

Two hours is a long time to load up. I would keep everything you need for a trip in the RV except for food and clothes. It will mean having two of a lot of things but make your trips more enjoyable.

RE: How to sell my 99 Ford

Good used trucks are easy to sell. I don't think you'll need anymore exposure. You'll probably get over Book for it.

RE: Hot Water Heater Drain Plug

By the way, just to set the record straight:
There's no such thing as a "Hot Water Heater". If the water is hot, it doesn't need to be heated. :W
real name would be -(Water Heater) So what's a coffee maker real name?
That would be 'coffee maker', it turns coffee into a beverage.
You don't call an 'Air Conditioner' a 'Cold Air Conditioner' do you...so why a 'Hot Water Heater'?

RE: how long does a rubber roof last?

EPDM roofing could last 20 years or more if taken care of. We use EPDM on commercial building, skyscrapers, etc. around the world and those are totally neglected but also somewhat thicker.....if it's not broke don't fix it till it is.

Never had any luck with Everstart, or NAPA, or Autozone batteries. Real happy with Interstate RV batteries.

RE: Wrong Size Tires????

I would skip the hassle and live with the 14's on this size trailer. All you would be gaining is a little less tread wear.

RE: Lakewood Camping Resort

Lakewood? Colorado one has no RV resorts??? So where are you going? Being specific always helps.
Where is Colorado mentioned? there's only one in the world that's near a beach and that's not Colorado :)

RE: Need suggestions for first time full time RVing

A TT works fine except hanging space for clothes (but who needs it). The covered bed of the truck, front compartment of the TT and under the bed provides ample storage.

RE: Office on Wheels

That's what I do. All the work I produce is on a computer, all correspondence is over the internet. Leaving the office only requires closing the laptop and getting up from the dining table. I only work with a few clients and they know not to schedule any physical meetings unless I happen to be close by. It works successfully with very few occupations or you'd see more of it.....only difference is, I don't teach.

RE: Please wash your hands

For some folks this "They must wear gloves!" is an obsession that I simply do not understand. I often wonder if they ever changed a diaper on their child or grandchild bare handed or did they break out the surgical gloves?
People are not likely to get a serious disease or intestinal parasite infestation from their own children or grandchildren. Better safe than sorry - especially if one has poor or no health insurance.
What makes the difference if their your own children or grandchildren?

RE: Battery Tender extension

I have a Battery Tender Plus ordered and plan to use it on my TT when not camping. I have noticed that they sell a 25 foot extension cord that would really work out well for my location, but what effect will it have on the charger?
I assume your talking about this one

RE: Battery Tender extension

My concern is that I will have some voltage drop from the tender to the battery, The extension cord goes on the 12 volt side of the charger.
If Battery Tender sells extension cables. Should be alright

RE: Good news / Bad news....Found a leak

I would also fix the entry point of the water, screw a register cover over your hole in the ceiling, let it dry out. After awhile remove the cover, insulate and put the register cover back on.
