RE: spree 289ks

I have basically the same set up but my trailer is a couple of feet shorter. I have an 07 Chrysler Aspen (a Durango with more chrome). I don't have the vehicle specs right in front of me, but I have run all the math and its well within its factory recommended guidelines. As the OP noted, his concern is with the wheelbase and the driving experience. I my 3 years of pulling a camper through mountains and crosswinds that seems to be its only real weakness. I have an Equilizer brand hitch and while it seems to work well, I have experienced a few while knuckle moments in high cross winds. I have no idea if a Hensley would have helped. I think the 120" wheelbase is probably just too short to comfortably pull a long camper that acts as a sail in the wind. My issue is we camp 3-4 times locally and maybe one extended trip a year. It is hard to justify a 3/4 ton truck when a family SUV fits our needs 95% of the time.

RE: 2012 Outback 250RS Comments?

We have a 2011 and love it. I have slept through several rain storms and didn't notice any issues with it being loud. We have had a few warranty issues that were dealt with quickly and efficiently by our dealer. The AC quit working (not a Keystone issue) and the fuse panel was wired incorrectly (definitely a Keystone issue). One thing I've had to do was go around and tighten the plumbing connections several times. Maybe they rattle loose going down the road.

RE: danger in campground

Last summer while boating we pulled up to a remote beach on a northern Minnesota lake. Several other boats were pulled up as well. It was a beautiful warm sunny day with very little wind. Suddenly an entire tree comes crashing down on the beach narrowly missing (less than 4 feet)a mom and small child playing in the sand. If it had hit them they easily could have been killed. One of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. Would I stop there again? Of course. I'm not going to live my life afraid of every tree. That being said, if I pull into a campground and notice the tree above the campsite looks suspect, I'm probably going to make sure nothing is directly under it.

RE: Minneapolis Area Dealers

Here is a website for local dealers association. It has virtually every dealer and lines they carry.
