RE: Stalling Cummins 8.3 (Sudden loss of power)

The cummins lift pump does not run after start. What happened to you is not the lift pump.
??? its a mechanical pump which is activated with every engine revolution....correct?

RE: Comfort Control Setting on Duo Therm a/c

Dona, yes it is. When mine is set in the high, med or low setting the fan will not turn off when the compressor does. Fan only turns off when AC does when set on "auto"

RE: If you dont travel with the FW tank full???

150 gals of FW on our old TH...always filled before leaving....but then again I have more than enough truck to handle the load I was towing. More reasons to consider the proper TV before purchasing a TV or adjusting the TT to the tow vehicle you currently have

Dometic fridge stopped cooling..HELP!!

Unit is an RM2852
I turned unit on AC Sunday evening
Monday it was all nice and cold
Tuesday morn...it was warm in both compartments
No signs of leakage in coils
no hint of ammonia smell anywhere
Stack is warm to my hands on LP and AC (my hands are trashed, so probably hot to many if they felt the stack)
AC voltage out of board to electric element is 119v AC
2.9 amp draw on element
good clean/proper flame when on LP
Coach is level...checked with 2 different levels just to verify
cooling unit failure??
thanx!

RE: Which generator setup????

I have been using the Honda 3000 watt for about four years and it works very well. It weighs about 140 pounds so it may take two people to lift it, The run time with A/C is about 12-14 hours. The run time in the winter is about 24 hours with the camper heater going. The noise level is about the best, not be able to hear it inside the camper that much, making sleeping easy.
Ditto! Love my 3000i ...so quiet and stingy on fuel

RE: Which generator setup????

Has anyone run a dB test running 2 - 2000 watt generators together?
no formal test with a db meter but by ear...2-2000i both running at load are far noisier than 1 3000-6500 Honda inverter genny. I've never been around a Yamaha to know how they do

RE: Opinions on Al-KO torsion axles

I have had no issues what so ever with torsion axles....no shackles to wear out, no spring eye bushings to wear out, no spring eye bolts to break, no leaf springs to sag out...sure the torsions won't last forever...but in normal use...you won't have any problems. I feel they ride much better than leaf springs

RE: Refrigerator interior light

fridge is used to cool....so we leave the light on to warm
kind of an oximoron...isn't it?
my Dometic fridges have both had light turns off no matter what position my little switch below the freezer is in.

RE: Cummins 8.3L fuel in the oil

Arson a lift pump will run $60-$150ish pending where you buy and what manufacturer your buy
Arson I received a PM from a message board expert ridiculing me about lift pumps...I assume your engine is a mechanical injection 8.3 and has the lift pump mounted to engine block above the starter?
if it is not a mechanical 8.3...then disregard my post about a lift pump...as the expert has made me aware..I'm incorrect and apologize for attempting to assist with incorrect info

yes heavy
here in midwest...interstate are less than $200ea
my 4d's are 2006 vintage and still going strong

lift pumps can and will fail internally and allow diesel into the crackcase...Id suspect the lift pump prior to the injector pump

RE: Shop Supplies

Until you work in a repair shop and see what is actually considered "shop supplies" you folks have NO gripes. Do any of you have a clue as to what a box of paper shop towels cost? How about cloth shop towels and their weekly cleaning charge? How about that finger full of grease used to lubricate something? What about the squirt of spray can lube? or spray can cleaner? What about how many times the tech has to wash his hands using soap/water/drying towels, so that he doesn't mark your interior with his dirty hands??? It all adds up and adds up very quickly...So before complaining, consider the WHOLE picture
