Corporate Greed or ???

When I leave South Texas this week I'm planning on making stops at various Louisiana State Parks. I read on rvparkreviews that the LA state parks are charging a $6 ReserveAmerica fee for walk-in and drive-ins that have no reservation. I have visited hundreds of state parks in my life and have never seen this before. Is this becoming the norm for the Nations state parks? I sent an email to the LA state parks to confirm whether or not this was true. Here is the response that I received: Mr. Philips, Thank you for your inquiry regarding reservations at Louisiana State Parks. Yes, we do charge a $6 transaction fee for each reservation made, regardless of whether made online, by phone, or as a walk-in. This fee is assessed by ReserveAmerica for the cost of their services. More information on Reservations can be found here: http://www.crt.state.la.us/parks/ifeefacguide.aspx. Travel safely and enjoy your visit to Louisiana! Regards, Sharon E. RE: broken brackets on axle

I read on here years ago about welding an end piece to the hangers for extra strength. I took the rig to a welder and had one end of the hangers boxed in. Never had a problem.

RE: Alfa SeeYa 40 with Skin Issues

I've seen this on a friends Alfa. Lots of holes that looks like terminal acne on the exterior panels. Not really a delam issue but a problem with the resin mix when the fiberglass was formed.

RE: Best RV Park in RGV

This is my second winter at Hummingbird Cove in Rio Hondo. If you like fishing for Red Fish, Speckled Trout, and Black Drum and enjoy a quiet country atmosphere then this is the place to be. The park has just over 100 spaces and offers the usual tight sites and several premium spacious sites. The South Valley has many offerings but does not compare to the activities available in the North Valley. Both ends of the Valley has its advantages.

RE: South Carolina

We spent the winter of 2009 south of Columbia at River Bottom Farms in Swansea. The weather was mostly mild with a few freezing nights. I would definately stay a winter there again.

Where's the Beef in RGV?

Hey everyone! Where is a good place to buy beef in the San Benito-Harlingen area? HEB and Walmart have a very limited selection of beef cuts. I'm looking for tri-tip, rib-eye, t-bones, rib roasts, etc. Any recommendations? I'll drive to the North Valley if necessary. Thanks.

RE: Dog Locked Us Out of Truck

Many years ago we had a 2 door Toyota. I had a baby in one arm and keys in the other hand. I unlocked the passenger door, set the keys on the passenger seat, flipped the seat forward and put the baby in the car seat in the back. I flipped the seat back, hit the door lock and shut the door. Just as the door closed I saw my keys on the seat. Dang, how do you get an infant to reach forward to unlock the door? She is just sitting there smiling and doing her baby thing while daddy was panicing. After many failed attemps I ended up breaking the rear window on the side opposite of the baby. Never made that mistake again.

RE: SD Vehicle Registration $$$

For sig vehicles I paid $142 for both in SD versus $799 in CA. A $50 increase in SD is pocket change when compared to CA taxes.

RE: Is is just me or?????

I think the current young generation is out of touch with person to person contact. Most I see are shrouded in hoodies and texting. The best way to talk to them is to text them.
