RE: Water Hose

I have never used the fresh water tank in any of the 3 campers I have owned.

RE: Open Range

First trip out hot water heater would not light or work on electricity. They replaced both thermostats, no problems since. We have camped a total of 56 days since that first trip.

RE: campground near okefenokee swamp

Walkabout campground near Woodbine,Ga is very convenient to the swamp, I think it is at exit 7. We stayed there 2 years ago and it is just a short drive to the swamp, the boat tour is very good.

RE: 17 south from Myrtle beach to James Island

It will be a piece of cake, after you go there try the one to the OBX at Manteo.

RE: OBX Seafood

I think the Fisherman's Wharf in Wanchese has the best seafood, the view is very good and the prices are very reasonable. Lone Cedar in Nags Head is also good but more pricey.

RE: Campgrounds near Cincinnati Reds Stadium

We stayed at Little Farm by the River in Rising Sun, Indiana last year and saw St. Louis and Cincy play. Its not a bad drive, also the Zoo is a good day trip. I would also recommend the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky a short drive.

RE: Florida Snow birding cost

Snowbird parks in central will run 500-600 nowhere near 900, we stay in one that is 585 plus electricity. If you want the true cost you need to deduct heating and electricity costs you have at home because they will be a lot less, also deduct your fuel cost when at home. The food cost should even out as you have to eat anyway.

RE: Augusta,Ga traffic on this Sunday

Just an update, we took bigdaggogg1's advise and got off at exit 6 in SC, virtually no traffic on that road. Thanks for the advise.

RE: New here and need to ask a question to the NC members

We were very happy with our trade at Americamp in Franklinville, plus you are very close. Robbie impresses me as a very honest and straight shooter. Be sure to check out the Open Range units.

Augusta,Ga traffic on this Sunday

We will be traveling through Augusta this Sunday last day of Masters. We will be traveling on I-20 and the Bobby Jones Expressway down to US 1. I was wondering what time I need to be through there to miss heavy traffic. Thanks.

RE: Looking for good overnighter northbound bet. GA and Philly.

Roanoke Rapids, NC is pretty much half way and there is an excellent campground right off I-95 at exit 121. It is the RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads right behind the Carolina Crossroads theater. They have a special on check ins after 7PM of $25, all sites are pull thru and they have several that are 70 ft long.

RE: Cat fishing and camping at Santee-Cooper South Carolina

Try the Santee Lakes campground, it is right on Lake Marion and they have a lighted pier and a boat ramp. It is at exit 102 on I-95 and is the 2nd campground you will come to. Good campground and reasonable rates. They have a web site, santeelakes-campground.com

RE: Going to Zooland CG in Asheboro NC this weekend!

We met the new owners last June right before they took over Zooland at Barnyard RV in Lexington,SC which they also own. I enjoyed our conversation after he found out we were old members at Zooland. We actually stayed 2 different times at Zooland later last year and all the changes he had said they were going to do were proceeding. If you haven't been there lately for whatever reason (I had mine for staying away for almost 2 years), try it you'll like it.

RE: Grandfather Mt. NC campground

We drove thru it last year and found the roads very rough and most of the sites looked rough and not very level. We did not even get out of the truck. There are better campgrounds in the area, the KOA, Honeybear and Flintlock are all better campgrounds.

We spent 34 days in Florida starting Jan 30th and have a week trip planned for Georgia in early April. We will have to work around graduations and a wedding in May-June.

RE: Extra Charges at Florida RV Snowbird Park

I think it is unfair to paint all Wilder Resorts with the same paint brush just because of one bad apple. We have stayed a month for 2 straight years at a different Wilder resort further south in Florida and have nothing but excellent things to say about it. We paid a $50 dollar deposit for electric when we arrived and when we checked out the bill was $50.08, the lady said forget the 8 cents. No extra charges for reading meter. Tell them why you will not be back, find another park but don't lump them all together.

RE: Anyone own an Open Range Roamer 316rls?

We don't have the 316RLS but we do have the 287RLS 5th wheel which we purchased in October. We have had virtually no problems with it and we love it. We camped 3 times last fall and are on our 4th week in Florida now. We feel it is one of the best made on the market.
