RE: How do I measure for battery drain?

Sear's has a couple of different DC amp-meters. Actually they are multi-meters, AC_DC volts, amps and, on the more expensive ones, they include resistance and temperature. Start around $50.00. AT least they did when I bought mine about 2 year ago.

RE: TV Mounting Bracket

Just a thought. Why don't you check customer service at Starcraft and find out if they put backing in the wall where the label is. Sounds like they did the prep., and may even have wiring already in place behind the wall.

RE: Toad Brake-a-way

Much of this discussion is really a mute point. There are only 14 states (as of 2010) that do not require a break-away switch. Toed weight varies from state to state bus most say anything over 3 thousand pounds they are required. I didn't read all of the foot notes in the Trailer Life directory but the information is there. The one I use is from Night Shift Auto, Ready Brake, part # is RS 5000. The cable is connected to the frame of the MH so even if the receiver falls off. the brakes will still be applied. I don't know if it works and hope I never find out but at least I know it's there.

RE: Pls Help! 09 American Allegiance 40x to buy or not to buy?

Looking at the Camping World ad, why would anybody list a unit at that price and not have any information about important things like engine, chassis etc.? Makes you wonder if N/A means "not available" or "not attached".

I wonder if the Manufacturer will pay te cost for a trip to the factory for warranty work. That is if they come with a warranty.

RE: Water heater/pump questions

One thing that comes to mind is if this is a new TT and your first use, be sure there is water in the water heater before turning on gas or elec heat. If you are on city water line, just open a hot water valve until water flows. If no hook-ups, turn on pump and open a hot water valve until water flows. Don't want heat in a dry tank.

RE: Bucket Lists

I'm 79 and don't have a bucket list. Well, I do have a semi-bucket list where I keep things that I might do if the things I'm doing don't get in the way. Headed for Alaska this Spring-Summer. Lost my DW last July and this was on her list so I'll do it for us. Still many things to do and see but they just have to be done one at a time. I'll keep working on them.

RE: Some Input On A Fleetwood Flair

Your setup may be similar to my 2005 Hurricane with 30 amp shore cord.
There is a switch, in my case, on the side of the bed support that switches between the front and rear AC's when on shore power. You can only run one or the other. I have a 5.5 Kw generator and can run both AC's when using the GenSet. I don't have the EMS set up. I did rewire the unit so that I can use a separate 20 amp shore cord to run the back AC so can run both off shore power if needed.

RE: Just my luck

On line banking doesn't always work. I pay my bills on line on the first of the month and today when checking my current phone bill I see that they didn't receive last months payment. The correct amount was deducted from my bank account but not received by the phone company. They said "pay the full amount (two months) now or be disconnected", which I did. Checked with the bank and they say it will take two days for their research department to find the error. I guess just checking the bank statement isn't enough. Now I have to check with the payees to see if they actually got their money.

RE: What was the first RV you owned?

First RV experience was in 1937 with my Grandmother's house trailer on trip to Canada. It seemed huge but I was only five. My folks had an Airstream in the early 50's. I bought my first RV in 1972, a class C by "Pride and Joy". wish I could find a picture. Next was a 25' 1976 Pace Arrow. then a '94 class C Fleetwood Tioga Montara. Now have a 2005 32' Four Winds Hurricane. It's probably the last but you never say never. Just have to wait and see.
Merry Christmas, Happy holidays and a great new year to everyone.

I know you would like to but I think you just did.
I'll say Merry Christmas to all and may the worst days of the New Year be better than the best years of this one.

RE: What thing(s) couldn't you live without? (Poll)

I thought I couldn't travel without my Darling Wife of 47½ years but find that it is possible but a lot of the fun is gone. Lost her in July and just getting to the point where I am thinking of getting out and going again. Every thing else in the MH is just "stuff"

RE: What TV size?

How much room do you have for the TV? TV sets are sized by the diagonal of the screen. (A 32" TV is usually about 31.5 or so diagonally.) Measure how much room you have for the TV and take a tape measure with you when you go shopping.

RE: tires

I just paid $2260.00 out the door for 6 24570R19.5 Yokohama tires. Probably too much, but that was the best I could find in this area. One place would sell me the tires for a little less, but they couldn't mount or balance them. They don't work on truck tires.

RE: tire pressure

I'm not an expert on this subject, but to my knowledge, the pressure should be set according to the tire maker's weight chart. The side wall max is to carry the max. weight they are meant to carry. My tires call for a max of 110 lbs., but i run them at 80 lbs which is about 10 lbs above that required for the weight. How old are the tires, and what kind of shop told you that inflating them to the pressure/weight chart would ruin them?
