RE: run embroidery machine with a/c on??

Keep in mind that usually when you are sewing you also need to have a iron on and that would most likely be too much draw. I cannot run my sewing machine and iron off the same outlet.
this is a first for me - why do you need an iron on when you sew?

RE: Arctic Cat WildCat

I love ours!!!
Great Suspension and power steering = major fun!!
I've heard not great in the sand for climbing big hills, but we don't go to glamis very often, so I don't have to worry about that.
The stock tires suck monkey butt (if you buy one, have your dealer put different tires on it).

RE: Nu-Wave type oven

I just bought this:
http://www.hsn.com/kitchen-dining/sharper-image-1300-watt-analog-style-super-wave-oven_p-6622713_xp.aspx
I used it to make tater tots, figured I'd try something simple first. They were good, nice and crispy.
Tonight I will make up some chile verde taquitos.

RE: How would you handle this?

Since HR has already asked for you not to have contact, I would delete the facebook friend and leave it at that. I am sure they already know about his FB page and monitor it regularly
Sounds like they are already handling it from their end. I would guess they are building a workers comp fraud case against him. It would be best for you to keep a log of what you find at sites that should be his.
If doing his route is hindering you from doing your route, I would make mention of this to supervisor. Mention that while you are willing to help out while someone is temporarily out, this looks like more of a permanent situation and they will need to hire someone to take his route. They most likely have to leave his job open in case he comes back, but they can hire someone temp until they get the situation resolved.
my two cents...

RE: Blanket Reprimands

In my company, we just had to issue new employee dress code letters that included safety gear (electricians). It is stated in our employee handbook several times what they are to wear on all jobs, but we still have a couple of employees who think that because they are not seen by the owner regularly, they do not have to follow rules. The offending employees were spoken to.
A day later, the superintendent went to another job and found a couple of other employees who were not wearing their safety equip. He was asked "Bob" doesn't wear safety glasses, why do I have to?".
Blanket warning to all employees - you will all wear safety equipment, no excuses.

RE: First Time With No Hookups...

as others have posted, get a 2nd battery - we keep the furnace at 68 at night - I have a health issue with being cold (another blanket doesn't help). We have only used the batteries up once when it was very cold outside (20's).
We turn everything off at night (no use being on) and when we get up in the morning, turn on the genny to make coffee anyway, so it recharges the batteries.

RE: Outback Steakhouse - Thumbs Down

Outhouse Steakback .
Hilarious!!
We have eaten in several since they opened. We have not been in one for at least 4 years. Food is terrible at best (and I have eaten in 3 in Calif.)
BTW - you DO NOT have to pay the gratuity - even when they add it to your check for parties over X. Pay what you feel is fair. Sometimes we pay less or same, more often for good service we pay more. Having been a waitress through college, I def have opinions about what constitutes good and bad service.

RE: Lucky

Yes you were lucky to be able to retire after 40 years of working. Some of us were not so lucky. So of us may have to work 50 or more years. It's not because we are stupid, lazy, didn't plan ahead or any of those other derogatory things people have suggested. It's just the cards we were dealt. Walk a mile ......
I agree with this. I also look at my parents who worked very hard for 50 years (both started at 15) and by the time they retired, they are too unhealthy to do the things "they wanted to do at retirement"- not their fault. If you are healthy enough to travel - please enjoy your "Luck"
It is the cards you are dealt.

RE: Paper cups

I briefly worked for a guy who also sold Slushee. He had his cups made in Asia with the logo.
For cups without a logo, I would buy US made - shipping costs much better.

RE: Toy Haulers: I'm tired of tires

hahahaha...I just spent time reading a thread arguing about another thread arguing about tires
Dave, you do a great job and don't let nobody tell you any different!!
Any of you who think it's easy being a mod - try it! I personally know several of the mods here, it's no picnic!! These people put their time in FOR FREE!!! This forum is free - if you don't like it, move on!! You have no obligation to hang out here
BTW - anything that hauls toys IS by definition a toy hauler. I have a class C that tows a trailer with our quads and wildcat in it - I have a toy hauler
Sobe bombs are awesome (the first hundred or so) but we have not found a bottle that compares to the Sobe for replacement.
Awesome trail pics mapguy - looks way too scary for me!
I think I have hit on all the major points....carry on

RE: New Diet for me...

Day 12...first thing I've noticed is my energy level has tripled! Rather than feeling tired all the time, I have energy! YAY!!
Couple of lbs lost (will weigh again tomorrow evening)
I am drinking decaf tea and had some decaf coffee this weekend. Just not the same without cream and sweetener! Almond milk / coconut milk just not the same mouth feel!

RE: Is Rving for us? Are we alone or are there others....

But see so many non active, non athletic types at campgrounds, don't get me wrong, very nice folks, just not physically athletic lifestyle, at least not what we see. Not sure how we'd 'fit into a campground crowd'.
Amy-52/Terry-55
hahhaha...did you really just lump together all RV'ers into a category of overweight slugs? I think you did!!
RV'ers are like any group - it takes all kinds. Find a camping group online (there are tons) and start posting there and ask questions as to their activity level.

RE: HOW do you do it?

We live in Corona, when it gets hot, we head to the beach or down to San Diego! We desert camp (atv riding) in fall, winter and spring - NEVER summer (or summer weather!).

RE: Secure your coolers

900 campsites, 2500 leased sites, 35000 guests per day.
This is camping?
Yuck, it looks like an RV parking lot.
http://www.oceanlakes.com/Slides/slide1.jpg
hahahahaaa - you think that's a parking lot?? You have obviously never camped at any of the state beaches in So Cal - those are true parking lots!! and yet we go every summer....LOL!!
