RE: Good Sam or Coach-Net

we were in a cg near little rock and were not able to retract our jacks. talked to tech at coach net and asked to have rs come to jump the battery. the tech insisted on sending an rv tech. i couldn't convince him that it had to be a dead coach battery.
said tech would be there in 3 or 4 hrs. long story short, found a neighbor with jumper cables and used towd to power the jacks. outa there. didn't call back.
signed up with gs and haven't look back. blew a tire on I95 last month. called rs and she promised tire truck in about 45 min. called back later and sd original truck "was not able to come" ( getting dark at quitting time.) she got another tire service and was there in 1/ hr. very pleased with gs.

RE: Towd Wiring Problem

thanks for the replies. both the towd and mh have dual filament bulbs. no amber
involved. i am using a test light. one lead is clipped to good ground and the other probes. the input to the diode is good, the output is not. when i put the 4 way from the car on, the input and output on the diodes are both good. if i reverse the inputs the other side of the diodes work ok with the input from the car but not the input from the mh. so the diode pair is not defective but i can't get output from the mh. jumpering out the diode makes the light work. the forward resistance of the diodes is about 450 ohms. maybe i'm not getting enough voltage thru the mh wiring to light the bulb??

Towd Wiring Problem

the blinker from the mh doesn't go thru to the towd tail light.
i put a test light on the diode input and get blinks, but the diode output does not.
i buzzed both inputs to the diode and both went to the output terminal.i switched diodes and got the same thing. the car turn signal works no matter which input
terminal i connect it to. i have new connectors on the mh, cable, and towd.
what am i missing here?

RE: home phone on the road and plugs into sat. receiver

i have the google phone. pick your own number from a list, post all your land and cell numbers and when anyone calls your google number all your phones ring including the gmail phone when you are connected to the internet. if none answer, the message is stored as an email in gmail. it is translated to text. any outgoing or incoming calls are free to the gmail phone. if you have wi-fi you have a free phone

RE: My Boondocking Power Mods

ok, here's a question. with a 24 volt tv why not make the two batteries a 24 volt circuit and attach the tv directly? would a voltage regulator be needed to step down from two fully charged batteries or the voltage charging same?

RE: Front Ride Rite air bags for Ford F53

scott
i've finally grasped the logic of tire inflation. my axles are rated at 6000 and 11000
the manufacturers are specifying that i can safely pump my tires to 75 psi and drive
75mph all day without a problem, and at 75psi the tires will still carry nearly a ton more than my max 15700 gvw.
there has to be a decent safety factor in there too cause i've punished the rears on my ranger
hauling gravel without incident. yet.
thanks again

RE: Front Ride Rite air bags for Ford F53

ok, you're talking me into it. i usually have a full water tank. if i run with it nearly empty that should shift the cg forward some. the tire charts aren't real useful when both axels are underweight. never thought about the spring thing. i wonder if the truck spring people are smart enough to wind a spring for a particular loading. that would be ideal.
thanks for your wisdom

RE: Front Ride Rite air bags for Ford F53

ok, that's very interesting. i don't know how to load the front end to near max.
even if dw and i went on an ice cream diet i don't think we can get there.
i had looked up weights and carrying cap for the tires, and put about 75 pounds in them. i had a blowout on the right front shortly thereafter. needless to say i jacked them all back to 95. i have new tires (g) and have them at the max (125) i'm kind of knicky about reducing them too much.

RE: pointing dish antenna thru trees

thanks for the replies
i put a 22degree wedge on a board and clamped same to the front of the dish.
i held a camera on the wedge and took pix of the sky and the offending branch. the satellite is nowhere near where i thought it was. sadly the branch is too high to trim and if i cut the tree from the ground it will not fall anywhere but on the garage.
need to get people in.

pointing dish antenna thru trees

i have a twin lbf from dish. how do i visualize the signal coming to the dish to locate a hole in the trees? now that the trees are in full leaf if we get a rain cloud the signal is gone. i need to determine which trees to trim or cut down.
thanks
