RE: Golf Cart roof mod

Sorry. We went camping and I forgot. I'll do this today.
Rev
Any luck measuring? Looks like I'll need 6-7" of drop from the mod. Did it give you that?

Hauled it back to the house and let the kids play in it. :-)

RE: Golf Cart roof mod

I have double bunks and a 6 inch All Sports lift and tires on my cart. I gained about 4 inches of clearance. Now the roof just barely fits inder the bunks. Just enough to clear. When I get home this afternoon, I will measure it exactly and let you know for sure.
Rev
Did you ever get the chance to measure? I'd like to do this mod soon.
Thanks!

RE: Golf Cart roof mod

Can you advise how many inches of clearance that gave you? I'm skeptical it will work for me with a lifft kit and double bunks.

RE: XLR - Who's got one?

My biggest complaint is the lack of storage space. I bought this unit online sight unseen and looking for that feature didn't occur to me. We moved up from a Weekend Warrior which had tons of storage space. Overall, we are very happy with the unit and floorplan. I find the quality high and the fit and finish good. The factory tires were D rated and junk so we swapped them out with E rated.

XLR - Who's got one?

Interested in hearing how folks like them, any mods done and if there are probs, how they were addressed. In particular, the 29CKV.

RE: Golf Cart roof mod

Golf carts...yes, I guess that fits as an "RV and camping" related subject.
It seems we Baby Boomers are the first generation of American RVers that need little miniature Rv's to get us back and forth between our full-sized Rv's and our Recreation...
I posted this under the "toys" section. The kids love to ride around in the cart. Not sure why you have a problem with that or need to post a reply that isn't helpful. Oh, and I'm not a baby boomer. :-)

Golf Cart roof mod

I saw a mod a while back that allows the roof of a cart to flip down to allow it to fit in the rear of a toy hauler. Anyone done this or have the mod? I need to find a way to fit our lifted cart under the double bunks in our XLR.
Thanks!

Fired up the gen set for an hour and pulled it around the storage lot to rotate the tires, it sat for a year while I was in Afghanistan....It's good to be home!
Thanks for your service!

RE: Diesel vs gas......................

WHy not? Ten years ago, nobody would have batted an eye at towing it with a C3500HD with Vortec 454 power. The 6.0 matches the power...just keep an eye on the trans temps.
You can't compare the 6.0 to a big block. There is no replacement for cubic displacement.

RE: LEO breaking down on overweight towing?

I kind of have to disagree with some of this. If you have a CDL you are held to a higher standard. Lower alcohol limit for DUI
Remember though that the .04 only apply's when you are operating a commercial vehicle. When you and I end our shift and get off work and are in our personal car heading home, we are held to the higher .08 standard.
WRONG !!
The DUI as well as the other rules apply no matter what your driving or if your working or not !!
You are mistaken. CDL restrictions only apply when you are driving a vehicle that requires a CDL.

Does anyone see a potential problem with Line-X'ing your roof in lieu of treating it every year?

RE: LEO breaking down on overweight towing?

Check the NON-Commercial RV application in California and the drives license. After looking it over the test is all most like a commercial test along with a Dr's health evaluation. Its just plain garbage any one has to be put through this nonsense to own a RV. And you never know--It could be coming to your state.
I agree; another reason I don't live in CA anymore.

RE: Diesel vs gas......................

I drive a 2011 F250 crew cab 4x4 6.7 diesel I know its overkill for my trailer but the ear to ear grin everytime i drive it is worth it!Also 2000 miles on it so far and its averaged 20mpg
You're averaging 20mpg towing? Do tell. What size/weight is your trailer?
