Hope that dog recovers...what a shame that his owner did not check with their DVM first before giving that med.. I was with a patient ( human ) one night when he had a major gastric bleed from taking Naproxen long term......I will never forget it.... I was covered...the bed, walls floor were covered ...its a wonder he didn't bleed out before he got to the OR...

I would check with the DVM about giving the two drugs...I am always on the cautious side of things though....
I hope Gertie is feeling better...I can't imagine a dog getting bitten by a rattle snake....the thought alone is just terrorizing to me....

Every time I see a post about worms I think of a DVM I had many..many years ago...he always gave us a liquid worm medicine to give in the fall and spring....have never had another vet do that..but we never had a dog with worms...thankfully ! I now realize different meds are needed for the different types of worms , but I always faithfully followed his directions :B

I am sitting here in tears...I could not turn the volume up for the video but the sadness in that little dogs eyes will haunt me for quite some time...When as a society are we going to do more to protect our dogs and cats....it should be mandatory that all dogs not being bred to improve the species should be spayed and neutered...I know there are many people who disagree with my thinking but just visit any shelter...in any town or city...be it in the US or Canada and see the thousands of unwanted and/or abused animals sitting there waiting to be euthanized....I could not work in a shelter or rescue org....but I do contribute money to a no kill shelter in my area....I have great respect for those that do work there or do volunteering...they are angels ....The local SPCA shut the " pound " for lack of money to run it...so the closest SPCA and dog catcher is over one hour away....in an emergency is nye unto impossible to get the dog catcher to make a visit....Thank God for the non kill rescue, they are continually going under for lack of funding but always seem to pull out of it at the last minute when someone contributes a bit more money...wouldn't it be lovely if the local government commended them for their good work and funded them, instead of giving themselves large raises and extended holidays each year :M

A good visit to the Department of Motor Vehicles is always a good thing! But when did they start doing blood work there?
Cept I think you gotta make a higher, high seat so your crew can enjoy the view as well as the ride!

everything is accessible in Canada ...we go for the one stop shopping centers eh ! :W
found out they aren't old enough for a drivers license just yet :W so no worries yet about raising the foot pedals and lowering the seats :B

Very cute picture....my first thought was that this one in front was winking, then I realized that it's missing an eye. I don't know the history....was this an injury or illness? And what about the cutie with the collar....what's with that?
Aren't wee dogs a blast? We've got Papillons, and I wish we could get them to sit still like this....:B
Zari had juvenile glaucoma and had to have her eye removed last month....
Bella, wearing the Procollar, has Megaesophagus ( ME ) and requires the collar to prevent her from aspirating food or fluids...aspirated pneumonia can kill a ME dog over night...the collar also makes for a fine place to wear some bling or fashion accessories :W
I love the small dogs....they have the greatest personalities....I met a lady the other day with 5 papillons and 1 LC chihuahua !

Good visit with the DVM...
Zaris repeat blood work was fine :) The wees enjoyed a nice drive to the city...the weather is gorgeous !

I really started doing this some years ago for my clients that are shut-ins...they get such a kick out of seeing the wees dressed up...and now it is totally expected :R
Believe me, the girls don't have those outfits on any longer than it takes to snap the pics :B

Glad Zoey is feeling better...nothing like a toothache to make you feel rotten....
I am fortunate that my 3 never play tug-of-war type games...and after reading Zoeys blog, they will never get the chance to reconsider :B I have enough DVM bills as it is now, no sense adding a dental specialist to my list ;)
