RE: New new card

I never did get a new card this year but I assume I'm in their records as having paid.

RE: how old should you go.

worth more to me than what I can sell it for I think that's really the bottom line. It is for me, anyway.

RE: Colorado National Park

Their web site would indicate RVs are OK, as it mentions a 40' limit. Note the current fire restrictions. Colorado National Monument

RE: how old should you go.

It's hard to imagine that what you pay for maintenance on your 'old' unit would even come close to what you would pay for a new one. It's more the hassle of constant upkeep that's the issue. But, then, I see it as kind of a hobby. :C Would you get these investments back if you had to sell it? Of course not. But consider the depreciation of a new unit. There is no comparison in money lost there.

RE: Claim denied for lighting strike to motorhome?

Lightning doesn't always cause burn marks, either. I've seen trees split in half and twisted up from lightning strikes where there was no burn mark at all. Struck me odd, but it's happened more than once.

RE: Why I love my RV:

Every so often I go kayak camping or backpacking and sleep in my little ultralight tent. While it's a nice experience in many ways, it really does make me appreciate my RV!

RE: Used Class C--maybe

You can tell a lot about suspension components by a thorough test drive.

RE: Bad one in Phoenix

Good place to post a link to this video, required watching for all of us, TT, Fiver, or MH, applies to all. The Critical Factor Good reminder!

RE: Used Class C--maybe

My 24' Class C is perfect for me and my dog. Most Bs don't have full baths, as mine does, and lack the tank capacities of a C. It's only a few feet longer than a B but has so much more storage and living space and can also tow a 'toad'. The 6 cubic foot refrigerator is nice, too! I sleep on the pull-out sofa. I don't want a permanent bed taking up valuable space and prefer not to climb the ladder to the cabover. The cabover provides valuable space for coats and bedding. Only thing I don't like about mine is the swivel chair and fold-down table 'lounge' area rather than a booth dinette. I like a booth dinette with more storage under the benches and a bigger table for computer, etc. But it's the perfect sized coach for one, IMHO.

RE: A bad day camping...

Sounds like a pretty-near perfect trip! :)

RE: Well, I'm now among the leaky group

Home Depot had a wheeled scaffold at a reasonable price How reasonable? That's what I need to reach my cabover in order to wash and wax it. Can't get to the middle of it on a ladder.

I've only dealt with their parts department but my experience has been far above the norm.

RE: Went to look at a bigfoot

If he was a really good salesman, he would drive it to your house for you to look at. On his day off.

RE: Why do I get "dues notices" in the mail all the time?

I am a member and get renewal notices many months before they are due. I just toss them without even opening them. Fortunately, I keep track of when I paid so I know when it's due. Good Sam is not the only company who does this and I suppose they're hoping you'll renew early. I get notices from magazines I haven't gotten in ten years!

RE: Made it to Honeyman SP, Florence,OR. "PICTURES ADDED" Page 1

Every time we've been there it's been pouring rain but still a nice park. Hope your issues are all one simple fix, like a fuse or something.
