RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

4 degrees here in Iowa. Working on heat tapes and my new tray table.
That really sounds like bragging as it is -10F here in the Sault this morning!
You win.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

I made the plans too. I use Google Sketch-up. its a free Cad software that is very easy to use and very powerful! If you look at my RV Re-model album you can see some of the other sketchup designs I did for teh rest of the remodel. Once I get it all in the computer I can figure out cut lists and everything before I even go to the store. Its been working really well so far.
Thanks! YEs I built it. I've been remodeling our RV to fit our needs. You can see the whole remodel here:
RV Remodel
Did you build this? It looks great!
So where did you get the plans?
So can you put your plans on here? I don't see any sketch for the table.
I can't open the link. Can you check it?

RE: Tow Dolly

I own a car caddy by demco and it is great. I bought it used for around $700 about 15 years ago. New they are close to $2000. I bought a Santa Fe three years ago and it wouldn't fit on the car caddy so I bought a Master Tow that was a rental unit, rented twice, for $1100. It looked brand new. It has been great too. I like the demco the best but the master tow has better straps and ratchets. I don't think you could go wrong either way, but I do wish I had surge brakes some times also.

RE: Just bought our first MH

start measuring the opening. I think I could fit a 9 cf electric refrigerator where my 6 cf sits right now. It would save about $800 on the price.

RE: Pumping Pink stuff (For Winterizing)

I dump about six gallons pink stuff in my empty holding tank and turn on the water pump. When the pink stuff comes out of the faucet you are done. I have a water heater bypass so I don't have to fill up the water heater with pink stuff. Just pull the drain plug and open the pressure relief and drain it. If the water pump runs out of pink stuff before it gets all the air out of the lines, I add a gallon or two more and pump some more.

RE: Winter Camping

When I was using the water last december I found a new problem. I have one of those electric probe heaters for my water heater. The thermostat is attached to the pressure relief valve on the outside of the tank. It was cold and kept calling for more heat. It worked better after I insulated the thermostat and relief valve. No more steaming water coming from the faucet.
I also ran a heat tape on and around my dump valves to keep them from freezing. All of this stuff is easier to do when its above freezing so don't wait.

RE: Winter Camping

I also spent a few weekends filling holes and adding insulation. I added 1 1/2" underneath and last year I put the clear window plastic in the back bedroom and I think it raised the temp about 5 degrees. I'm doing the front room windows this year. Also put foam in the air vents overhead.

RE: Winter Camping

I have been camping in the winter for the last several years. I use two ceramic heaters along with a 100 gallon tank I hooked up to my camper furnace. The furnace and ducting is designed to help keep things from freezing. I used water up until Christmas last year and then put in the pink stuff. I have had the pink stuff jel up on me some times so I like to keep the furnace on. Also the trap in the shower will freeze, so dump some pink stuff down there. At lower temps below zero my refrigerator doesn't work well either. Just don't fan the door on those days. I wouldn't use an open flame burner where I sleep. I use the camper all winter in Iowa and use about 100 gallons of lp. A little over $200 right now. I put a tee with a valve on the lp inlet before the regulator on my camper. The lp supplier will have everything to do this and sometimes they will do the fix to sell more lp.

RE: When to turn on or off our water pump?

And regulators do fail. Mine quit a year ago and wouldn't let any water through.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Had some water lines freeze up last winter so I added 1 1/2" rigid insulation below that area. Also insulated my dump valve compartment. Hope this helps this winter.
Installed a couple weeks ago an amp and Bose 301's for tailgating this fall .
