RE: New Phone - What to get

Typically the geeks love Android phones. Other like the iPhones. iPhone users will never speak cores, ram, OS and stuff like that. My take: iPhones are the best portable user friendly gadgets, but the phone component is not the best. Androids are typcially better phones, but slightly more complex for setup and everything else. iPhone: BMW 3-series Android: F-150 ;)

RE: Adding Bluetooth to trailer radio

Yes. I did it and it works very, very well. I have a Concertone ZX 75, I made a small hole in the cabinet close to the radio and fished the cable from the adapter to the back, Input 2 as it were. I pick Input 2 and stream anything to the speakers, any phone, iPod, iPad.... Very cool. There are many adapters available, here is one : Bluetooth adapter

RE: Alfa AWUS036H need assistance

I use one and it works great - real powerful. I use it on a Windows 7 laptop and a little netbook running Linux and have no issues. Looks like your issue may not be with the Alfa but something else... Good luck.

RE: Two 6 volt GC Batteries, OR, two type 24 batteries?

I switched from a single G24 to 2 GC1 6V. I bought 2 new battery boxes from JC Whitney for $11 each. I am in Toronto and could not find these batteries at Costco in Canada so I got them from a US Costco (in Myrtle Beach). Bought them for less that $80 each, including core and hazardous waste fees. All my lights are LEDs now. I could not be happier - lots of Amp-Hours. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7240/6980582856_7e3edf3697_z.jpg

RE: Electronic Tongue Jack Question

It is a ten sceond job my daughter usually does. Let's talk again when your daughter stops going camping with you ;) With a WDH it is a must, in my books that is. To each its own.

RE: double battery box

I switched from 1 group 24 to 2 GC1 6v and bought 2 new battery boxes from JCWhitney for $12 each. They have the same footprint but are a tad higher. A+

RE: Need storage near Toronto

We stored our MH at Moody's Motor inn for years never had a problem Pickering/Ajax area. $50 a month. If you call them ask for Steve. Good luck with that one, 2 years ago I called, stopped by and called back again, he would never call me back. Caught him once on the phone and he blew me off. No space call later, he told me. I offered to give him a deposit to reserve the next spot... but he hung up on me. Found another spot, and am very happy./

RE: Bed issue new Roo

I have a roo 19 and have not noticed any transition, sounds like there is something wrong going on there... Same here - no issues at all, no bumps. Bed is lined up perfectly to the ledge on the trailer. Not sure what you mean :h

RE: THINKING OF BUYING HYBRID

Keep in mind that it is not really canvas, more like vinyl lined with a soft fabric. I mention this because I was surprised the first time I touched it, my old Coleman popup had real canvas. Finally the popup gizmos could be seen as rather difficult to install by some, some stretching and reaching is required to put them on. It's a fabulous way to RV.

RE: Towing with a minivan

Last September, at our local Costco in the parking lot, I saw a Honda Odyssey Van pulling a 24ft Airstream, with tags from New Mexico, and I'm in Toronto... he had obviously made it this far... Had a Hensley hitch. Boy I would have wanted to chat with him... but the DW gave me those eyes... so we left :(

RE: covering the trailer

This is one of the more controversial questions on the forum. Some swear by it, others say it's not needed. I am one who covers my TT and I haven't regretted it. I put it away nice and clean and it stays that way until I uncover it in the spring. I don't have to worry about bird droppings, leaves, etc. nor the harmful effects of the UV rays that will fade and damage an RV over time. Same here. Love it. ADCO cover.

RE: Any disappointments??

I'd say it depends on how you view things. If you don't care about the canvas and have the proper tow vehicle, I really see no reason for someone to get a hybrid, but if you are limited by your TV or if you love the canvas, then the pros totally out-do the cons. In my case, we are limited by your TV and thank God, there haven't been many times when we've had to pack when raining and honestly, setting up the bunk ends isn't that hard to do. I do love to unzip all the windows and enjoy the view from the inside as well as seeing through the HTT when sitting outside. Very well said. I love the feeling of sleeping in a floating bed in the forest. Sure in RV parks where you can hear neighbours snoar - or fart - it is not as pleasant. We tend to prefer provincial or state parks.

RE: LED's anybody???

I have changed all my bulbs to LEDs, got them from a vendor on eBay in China. Priced right and work great. I got the ones that are a warmer white. Power drain is minimal now. Very happy.

RE: Just wonduring

This should be the first leg of our fulltiming adventure. Will be on the road as soon as the S&B sells. Lucky you and congrats - we're planning for a 2014 retirement.

RE: Just wonduring

We have a pretty busy summer. Practically every other weekend in an Ontario provincial or a NY state park. 3 weeks in the Lake George & Finger Lakes areas in NY in late July 2 weeks in Québec City and St-Tite for the annual western festival in September. looking forward to it all.
