RE: We usually don't stay at Walmart

Thanks Kathy
I'll have a look at that route, I haven't been able to locate any RV parks between the border and Minot on the route that we had chosen.
Michael
Just found a site called www.campscout.com/and found a nice "city" park that looks like it would fit our needs would also shorten our day. Thanks for the tip.

RE: We usually don't stay at Walmart

Thanks for the responses so far, my trips and streets file said that the area was not RV friendly so I wasn't sure. This would certainly work for us as we had just crossed into the US and would need to load up on food etc.
Thanks again

We usually don't stay at Walmart

We are about to start on an 8 month RV trip with 4 other rigs and already have a bit of a wrinkle. Three of us planned to meet up in Minot N. Dakota on June 16. I have contacted all campgrounds in the area and they don't have room for three rigs on June 16. The only other alternative that I can see in Rugby which is over an hour away and this would be at the end of an already long drive. Does anyone know if the Supercenter in Minot is RV friendly?
Thanks

Looking for a good dog kennel close to the Austin airport

Hi
We are planning an extended RV trip and plan to be in Texas in December, we have booked a flight home for Dec 20 and need to find a good kennel for our furry kid. He's a big boy 120 lbs of German Shepherd we want to contact them well in advance to insure that we have all the proper immunizations that they may want.
Thanks in advance for you help

Just purchased a much larger 5th wheel

Hi
We just purchased a new 5th wheel that is about 8 feet longer than our present model, I would love some advice about the difference in handling from those of you that have made a similar change. I would welcome any suggestions on what I should be aware of in this larger 5er.
Thanks

RE: San Carlos to Puerto Penasco

Hi Les
We just drove from Kino Bay to Peurto Penasco using part of an old highway (we thought it was a continuation of Calle 36 but the map we have calls it 29) that leads to Pt. Libertad, lots of pot holes, narrow without a shoulder but certainly do able we had a group of 10 rigs all the way from 42' class A to 29' class C's. Once approaching Pt. Libertad you turn right on to a wonderful new road that heads north the road is not complete and requires about 1.5 mile dirt road detour that again as long as there hasn't been a lot rain shouldn't be a problem from there good signage directs you to Pt. Penasco, highway 37 is like the road to Pt. Libertad only not as many potholes, along the new road there are 6 huge pullouts many that have a view of the sea of Cortez, where you can have lunch.
Best wishes
Michael
If you need further clarification send me a PM and I'll check with other members of our party and try to improve my directions.

Good Sam Phoenix Seminar Reviews

Thought that it might be worth while to give GS some feedback on the seminars that they have been offering at the rally in Phoenix. We've been to four two have been great and the other two not so good. The seminars that went well where Bugs bugging you and Don't go without velcro. The other two AC Electric System Safety and Understanding Propane Systems probably would have been great if the presenter had been able to give his presentation but got so bogged down answering questions that he was not able to complete his presentation it also wasn't helpful that there were insufficient handouts for his presentations as he often referred to the handouts that not all of us had.

Vendors at the Rally in Phoenix

I was wondering if there is any vetting of the vendors that are at the rally, or is only based on the money spend? We are about to go on an 8 month trip and I would love to have my rig checked out by the service people at the rally, but don't want to make the assumption that just because they are there they are good. Anyone know anything about the mobile RV services listed?
Thanks
Michael

RE: Special offer

Didn't want to reply until I actually received some information and yes we are having our registration in the rally refunded. I have already thanked Marcus Lemonis. This is our second rally and we are really looking forward to it.

RE: Just curious...

I use a hockey, duffel bag which keeps the cord contained and find that it is much easier to handle inside the bag.

RE: Dog food coming north into the US

Thanks MexiNow That is the kind of response that I would hope that I would get from a border patrol officer as it actually makes sense. Hopefully we will get a similar minded officer when we cross back in the next month.
