RE: Atwood Water Heater Need to Drain?

I would get rid of the plug and just put in a valve. I have a short extension hose with a ballcock valve and when I want to drain I just move the hose down and open the valve. I got the idea on here somewhere.

RE: Delamination Repair

Could you please explain to me how insurance covers this type of damage? Is this an extra option on your policy?

RE: Anyone added Hose/connection For BBQ from propane tank?

The extend a flow kits are probably what you would want. I got the more expensive kit that allows you to tap off of the large tank and also use a portable tank of propane to supply the rv in case your rv runs out and your don't feel like breaking down camp and running out for more propane. I found that I don't use the kit like I thought I would and I don't bbq enough to even bother hooking up to it. I just use the small green bottles. I do like having the flexibility to configure my propane requirements as required.

RE: THE FLOORS DONE

ripping out the carpet, that always got dirty, was the best thing I did to my rv. I ended up using the vinyl Allure product at Home Depot and haven't had any issues. I think I put it in about two years ago. I really like how easy it is to clean or to wipe up spills. Do you have any pictures?

RE: Dennis Dillon RV screwed us on our first TT purchase

I don't see anything bad going on here. There was no contract and no breach of contract. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush as they say. You were in the bush and he had a bird in hand paying money to buy an rv. If you liked the vehicle that much then you should have had it inspected and then put a deposit down on it and signed an agreement.

RE: Overnight in Reno

The grand sierra resort is easy to get to and has a very large parking lot. You can stay in the lot for free or use their rv lot with hookups and pay. There is a new Walmart across the street if you need stuff.

RE: So I got to the dumpster---

I am one of those guys that just throws stuff out even if I could sell it for a few bucks. I don't want to hassle with throwing away stuff. When I moved onto my boat years ago, I put all kinds of nice things next to the dumpster at my apartment. Much of it was gone in minutes before I got back to the dumpster with the next load.

RE: I really hated staying at a hotel this weekend

I agree that there are some trips that hotels are better but this past weekend was not one of them for me. We are going to Reno soon to visit relatives and that is not an RV trip. That is a hotel trip. At least we won't have the dog with us and the teenager can stay at the relatives house at least some nights. At least we will have a rental car and our stay at the hotel will be for several days so we can bring some food to the room.

RE: $400 undercoat worth it for F350?

I would do undercoating myself but there is no way in hell I would pay a dealership $400 to do it. They won't do the job the way I would want it and they charge way too much. Also, I used to do vehicle undercoating at Ford for a few years. Nothing magic about it

RE: Dual 6V's in series. Disconnect switch how to?

If you look at the Perko battery switch installation instructions it does not state to install on the negative side. It states to run the positive feed through the switch, which is exactly what I did, with a fuse.

RE: I really hated staying at a hotel this weekend

More motel slammers. So just don't stay in them if it's going to be gripe, gripe, gripe afterwords. If it's that big of a deal, and you can't take the RV -- cancel the trip. We don't limit our travels -- we see the world, and not just the places our RV will take us. We stay in a LOT of hotels. Let me tell you -- this widespread, fabricated bedbug problem is a bunch of baloney. Plus, if you don't like the pillows you may encounter, do what we do when we travel by car -- take your own along! (Novel idea, eh?) Missed the free breakfast? Then plan for it. Go out the night before and pick up something, or go to a local restaurant in the morning. We love to RV, but more than that we love to travel. It's not always a bed of roses, but I wouldn't trade the experiences for the world. Of course these are great solutions to problems but they are short sighted at best. Yes, I could have brought my own pillow and my own bedding, and my own mattress if I wanted but that isn't the point. I don't like carrying a butt load of stuff through a parking lot, through the elevator and hallway to my room. This trip was not my decision. As far as breakfast goes the website incorrectly stated it started at 6 am and it actually started at 7 am. We had to leave the hotel by 6:30 to get to our games, so no breakfast unless we made another stop somewhere, which we had to do. Sure it is a small inconvenience but an inconvenience none the less. We already didn't get to check in until about 11 pm.

I really hated staying at a hotel this weekend

We had a baseball tournament for the son in Portland, Oregon this weekend. I let my wife arrange the hotel accommodations as she is not as fond of taking the rv as I am and I didn't feel about fighting on this issue. We stayed at a decent hotel but of course we had to abide by the check in and check out times. Their free breakfast was only during certain times so we were only able to get free breakfast one of two mornings. We were not able to get milk after hours for the baby unless we went to the store. If I was able to get milk at the hotel it was $2 for a small cup. In the rv I have milk right there. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. My rv bed and pillows are. In order to get anything to eat after hours we had to go to a fast food place or grocery store. I have plenty of food in the rv. We had to lug all the suitcases, dog, baby, and misc bags of stuff back and forth to the room. What a pain in the ass when it is pouring rain, which it was. The haul from the house to the rv isn't that far. The noise from the stairwell next to our room and the people in the hallway were pretty loud. Not much of a problem in the rv. The only thing I liked better in the hotel was the larger bathroom and more space. After all is said and done, the trip was about double what it would have cost to take the rv considering all the expensive food we ended up buying and we wouldn't have had to stop for the wife to pee. At least we didn't a have any bed bugs, that I know of. There are more things that I would have enjoyed by taking the rv but this is just a partial list.
