RE: connected to shore power full time

One battery and the frig on auto. If the park loses power we don't lose all the stuff in the frig freezer. Power outages at our park seems pretty frequent.

RE: Waterside RV Park and Campground In PA

My friend was permanent there all winter. He just moved to NC. We went up to see him once and it appeared to be a pretty park. There is a canal alonside it that the run short trips on and the Juniata river is right there. If canoeing, kayaking, or just tubing this is the place. It is also located well if you want to some side trips. Definately worth a visit.

I have the same handle as pictured above for the MIL. Works well for her. By the way they come in different lengths.

RE: Going to Dover PA near Gettysburg PA

The roads are fine.I come down there from the north and take 194 from Dillsburg. You can actually stay on 234 through East Berlin and connect to Big Mount Rd also. Nice drive & a nice campground. Try and stay to the higher sites incase of rain.

RE: norcold fridge problem

Hey 250mark1 I'm having the same problem this season I downloaded the manual but I'm going to start with the simple stuff first. It'll be until the weekend till I get back to the rv so I'll post my results on Mon. Good luck with yours. I know I have plenty of gas so I'm expecting dirt because I found some soot on the pan under the burner.

RE: Chestnut Lake Thousand Trails Campground

The park is nothing special. Nice pool and the location is excellent. Yes they can accomdate your motor home. Maybe not in the front row by the lake but second or third row back. We were there for a family reunion in a nearby town so it worked well for us. And being were' TT members the price was right. Make a reservation just to be sure, your at the beach.

RE: Antifreeze, and the water heater

I think that antifreeze in the water heater is so overblown as a problem it's amazing. I do have a water heater bypass and after I empty the water heater at the end of the season I drain it then turn on the bypass and inject antifreez in the rest of the system. After you drain the hot water heater there is alwau=ys some water that stays in the bottom and you can't get out. I crack the lower bypass valve and let a little into the heater just to make sre the water can't freeze. In the spring I pull the anode flush out the bottom of the water heater to get the crud out and the antifreeze then fill the water heater 1/2 way and flush it again. The resulting antifreeze that is in the system is neglible and gone after the first trip. No foaming, no months long smell, no problem.

RE: Is Rving for us? Are we alone or are there others....

Get to know some of the other people you participate in activities with. I'm sure you'll find many who chae the dream with an rv just as you do. Just because you have an rv doesn't mean you have to hang out in the campgrounds. Use it as an adventure to find new marathons, bike trails, kayaking waters.

All of the Flush systems I've seen have the backflow preventer built in. I don't use an addirional one. No IMHO.

RE: De-winterizing

During the first few trips carry some bottled water for coffee and cooking and let it run it's course. That's what we do. No big deal. Of course I already flushed the system and water heater.
