RE: Flooded our KZ spree TT please help!!

Our4sons, I feel your pain. Our KZ Spree flooded last year, because someone didn't turn the bathroom faucet off all the way. My DH found out the hard way when he got up in the middle of the night and the carpet on his side of the bed was soaked. Thank goodness we were heading home the next day. When we got home he cut the underbelly and water just poured out. He removed all the wet insulation, let it dry really well and then put in new insulation. I take my carpet cleaner and cleaned up all the water on the inside. Most of the water was in the bedroom which is all carpet. We left all the windows, access panels, and cabinet doors open and ran fans to help things dry out. After the carpet dried I steam cleaned it. Thank goodness he was able to replace everything and there was no permanant damage. Hopefully yours will be as good as new when the repairs are finished. Good luck.

RE: Teenager At Home and RVing

I wouldn't do it. I would worry too much to enjoy myself. And I would explain to her that it isn't that you don't trust her. There's just too much that could go wrong.

RE: Slide In or Out during non use

We keep our in when storing the TT. When we get home from a trip, I put the slide out to unload and clean the TT. When I'm finished I close it. I would rather be safe than sorry.

RE: Grey Tank Sizes

We have a 25 gal. portage tote and our grey tank is 40 gals. When we stay at State Parks we just fill up the tote and dump it once a day...we don't do multiple trips.

RE: Commode cleaning 101

I use a small toilet brush to clean ours every time I clean the toilet. If you asked my DH he say don't clean it. But then he doesn't clean toilets at home either. :(

RE: Where are all the young(er) TT/RV camping lovers?

We are in our forties but started RVing when we were in our early thirties. Our son is now 22 and he still enjoys going with us. When we camp we usually camp with friends or family that all have RVs. We have a great time. And we are all at different stages of life. The main thing for us is we get to spend time together. And as far as young rver's go...my nephew who is in his late twenties just purchased an RV. Maybe you should take some of your friends with you and get them hooked on RVing like the rest of us. :)

RE: Leaving the pop-up category going to the TT category

We too came over from the PUP side. We liked both of the PUPs we owned but needed a TT for the safety of our two little dogs. I could see them getting out of the camper. Enjoy your new TT.

RE: Dutch Oven Liners

We use the parchment paper dutch oven liners available at Wal Mart. They work great.

RE: Barking

We used a spray bottle of water and the "quite" command with both our dogs. If we are walking them and see someone coming toward us...we just say "quite" and they usually won't bark.

RE: water filter

We have been using the Wal Mart filter for the past several years. We still use a brita pitcher at some campgrounds if the water taste bad. I've been thinking of making the switch to the whole house filter...I think it would do a better job. We replace it every year. Sometimes twice a year if we go to the beach.

RE: sewer hookup Question

We go ahead and hook up the sewer hose when we are setting up our campsite. We have a sewer hose support rack to keep the hose off the ground. That way we don't have to fool with the hose every time we need to dump. We usually dump the gray water daily.

RE: Bedding ... sleeping bag OR linens??

We used sheets and quilts when we had our PUPs and our HTT. We did what Crossman61 says that they do...have someone on the outside to help make the beds. It is a pain when trying to do it by yourself.
