RE: Propane Tank Cover

I vote for mounting the tire on the bumper. You'll actually lose a considerable ammount of tounge weight along with sliding everything back. Tire on bumper...tanks behind battery.:)

RE: Slideout Off

I don't let off until the motor starts clicking. The slide on our 21SSO is large and makes a complete seal but as mentioned it does so on its last movement.

RE: Ford 6.7 debacle just gets crazier

So what's Ford NEW diesel engine going to look like? . Perhaps a Duramax or Cummins.

Alabama State Parks??

We will be visiting family in Alabama "mobile bay" this summer for week and would like to stay at a state park. I will review them via the net but would like real world imput. LIKES....full hook-ups-swimming-mtnbiking-hiking-wooded sites-kayaking. DISLIKES....Ocean front-anything that resembles KOA. Thankyou

RE: Note to self, de-winterizing....

I always de-winterize right after winterizing. Drain the antifreeze in a pail and poor it into the P traps. The idea is to flush out all the water, not protect the pipes with pink stuff. Exactly what I've done for years.....water displacement is the idea here.:)

RE: MOST FAVORED HEAT SOURCE ?

We always use a ceramic heater as option #1 when we have electric hook-up. My wife is unique "to say the least" and prefers inside temps in the mid 60's and even cooler when sleeping. This does keep condensation at a minimal and does not require the use of furnace. The issue i have with the furnace is temperature fluctuation and its much noisier the the ceramic heater.

RE: Considering trading the pup for Starcraft Sport 21RBS

Another 5.3 here...let her scream. I have duals and can tell you that you'll experience some cab drone while towing,i don't mind. If you decide to go with duals i reccommend running them out behind the rear tires and not straight back.

RE: Mice in the celing....has the story ended?

Have you tried shinning a bright light under the trailer after dark? A simple concept where a second person on the inside looks for light penetration. I found a large hole above the grey tank that could not be seen from underneath or inside the trailer as it was located under the frig.I pulled the frig and sealed it,no mice in almost a year. The AC cord "for those who stay hooked-up" provides easy access to the inside also. The screen over the vent certainly won't hurt but an unlikely place for a mouse to enter.

RE: State Park or Campground

We have several National forest CG's that are very nice here in VA/WV but I'll take State Parks. Are favorites all have miles of trails and large lake for fishing, swimming and kayaking. Some have full hook-ups but most offer electric only. KOA's are not for us.

RE: Research over (been a whole week), now time to buy

Congratulations on the new hybrid. The Reese WD hitch will have sway control if its the dual cam but yes you'll appreciate sway control. We do occasionally use the oven but i believe we could live without it. I'm a big fan of the outside grill, very convenient.

RE: question about blow out valve

Its only a 15 minute job once you get the hang of it. Is it possible to have someone show you for the first time?once you see how to properly winterize you'll have no problem doing it yourself. We had trailers growing up,family members all have trailers,I'm on my 3rd trailer and never once did i blow out the lines and never once did i have plumbing freeze. I live on the WV/VA line high in the mountains where temps often dip into the teens for several weeks. Trust me...its not necessary.:)

RE: question about blow out valve

You do realize that blowing out the lines is unnecessary and is not required to winterize? Many do it in conjunction with the use of RV antifreeze as it does accelerate the process "displacing water" but simply draining your system and purging with RV antifreeze is all that's needed. If you feel better then by all means get an appropriate compressor.

RE: Research over (been a whole week), now time to buy

My two girls have always slept together while camping, dogs on the couch or with wife and i. When my girls got older and wanted to bring friends the oldest girl set up a tent for her and her friend and the youngest inside. IMO...no need for third bed and you'll really appreciate the slide.

RE: Buying 2008 Starcraft Antigua - Anything I should know ?

When buying any trailer the first consideration would be to inspect for water damage such as de-laminated siding, stained walls, soft spots in the floor and condition of the roof. Make sure you have an adequate tow vehicle.Dealers many times mislead buyers by telling them that there mini van or small suv is suitable. You'll find in most cases that hybrids require full size tow vehicles to tow them safely. We are on are second Starcraft hybrid and have been very pleased with both units.

RE: ANTI FREEZE BETTER ?

The only problem i see with recovering your pre-used antifreeze is it will be diluted some what. I've thought about it myself but figured with only a little over a gallon to winterize I'll use full strength.
