RE: New/used Silverado 2500HD 6.0L Gasser

Here's another mod for ya'
Catback duals.
I'm an older fellow but still love the sound of duals especially the rumble of a 6.0:)

RE: Dw upset

I believe if the trailer could have been opened and inspected at the dealer's lot all issue's would have been resolved there.
Grease and stains are unacceptable in a brand new trailer and surely will be taken care of.
I've owned several brand new trailers and can only recall greasy fingerprints around the AC unit but never stains and grease on the tent-ends.
Give your wife a big hug and tell her You'll take care of it.:)

RE: size of covered storage building

Yes...if you can't put a roof over the hybrid then by all means move.
I would quit my job and maybe cash in a 401K but you need to act now before that Jayco arrives.
We live in a place, knowing ahead of time that we could erect a steel building "22X22X12" to protect our hybrid from the elements.

RE: 5.4 Ford or 6.0 GM

Your talking about two flagship engines for both companies...where's the wrong?
Owned both,The 6.0 would win in a race.:)

RE: .....you people with ya Ecoboosts! LOL!!!

My desire for improved engines and technology trumps the loyalty to any one manufacturer because if these engines are successful then it will become the new standard. When that happens everybody wins. So my take is "Go Ford!"
My thoughts as well.

RE: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

We are currently looking at smaller SUV's and the Equinox is right at the top of our list.Reviews are very good, good looks, nice ride.
Newer ones offer higher towing capacity but it won't be used for towing.
As a previous P'up owner, would you not consider one?
We never had any issue's what so ever with our P'up,thoroughly enjoyed it.
P'ups offer a great camping experience for those with marginal tow vehicles that prefer not to invest a bunch of money upgrading there equipment.
If you had a more formidable tow vehicle then i would highly recommend a hybrid, larger one of course with a slide "Roo/Jayco".
Its your decision but as a rule "a good one" don't let your trailer's GVWR exceed that of your vehicles towing capacity.

RE: A little help

I really can't add to what has already been covered but i will repeat this.
Get a hybrid with a slide so when the weather turns bad you have additional room.
Wait...you'll have additional room when the weather's nice too.:)

RE: .....you people with ya Ecoboosts! LOL!!!

As someone that has worked on and around large diesels with turbos, a turbo failure is one of the last things to worry about. As long as you keep your oil clean and use a quality oil that turbo should last as long as the engine does. Now if you run with a very dirty or missing Air Filter all bets are off.
Why then all the turbo failures on the Ford 6.0 diesels?
LOL....i knew the 6.0 would wiggle in somewhere.

RE: .....you people with ya Ecoboosts! LOL!!!

My wife really likes the new Explorer with EB....me too.
I've had my share of 5.3 and 6.0 engines and have always been very pleased but the EB is really grabbing my attention. The combination of power and MPG's are very impressive.
Can anyone really question its durability? we need duration.
I say give ford a thumbs up until proven otherwise.

RE: Looking for a Virginia Destination CG - Skyline Drive Region

Sherando lake would be my choice as i prefer mountains. Its a clean place with hiking, biking, fishing, swimming and Kayaking.....simple and beautiful.
There is no boat ramp to either lake which keeps the lake peaceful.I just shoulder my yak.

RE: Propane Tank Cover

I vote for mounting the tire on the bumper.
You'll actually lose a considerable ammount of tounge weight along with sliding everything back.
Tire on bumper...tanks behind battery.:)

I don't let off until the motor starts clicking.
The slide on our 21SSO is large and makes a complete seal but as mentioned it does so on its last movement.
