RE: Beer & wine in Canada & Alaska

Taking beer and wine to Canada is much like hauling coal to Pittsburgh.
Canada makes "real" beer, actually has taste and alcohol at a much higher level than most in the US. Many micro breweries as well. The one in Whitehorse, Yukon Brewery is my favorite of any I have ever visited, anywhere. The Yukon Red, just the thought is enough to make me drool. Never found it anywhere but in Yukon.
Part of my travel experiences, usually includes trying the local foods and drinks, whenever possible, Canada included;
2nd on the brews from the Yukon Brewery. For every day beer, we liked Molsen Canadian.

RE: Moab, UT

Spanish Trails is located right next to a very busy highway. If traffic noise bothers you, this is not the place to stay.

RE: Route 160 or 163 North?

We always take 163. It is more scenic and I think that the highway is better maintained than the stretch of 191 from 160 to Bluff, UT.

RE: Monument Valley to Capital Reef Route

Do not take Utah State highway 261 to 95. Go via 163/191 to 95.

RE: Flagstaff AZ to Zion National Park

When hauling the 5th wheel, we take 89 to Kanab via Page. At Kanab, we drop south to Fredonia to pick up 389 to Hurricane. This avoids the curvy upgrade/downgrade through Jacob Lake.

RE: Help Wirh a Blog

Read our travel log. Link is in my signature.
If I were to start again I would probably use Blogger rather than typepad. I think that Blogger is now easier to use.

RE: Hwy 20 to Panguitch, Utah . . . any issues??

This is our preferred route. There is a couple of long grades going up and one steep grade going down to 89. However, they should not be a problem for your rig. Change to low gear before descending.

RE: Green River, UT to Capital Reef Nat. Park

Hwy 24 is a wide 2 lane state highway with a road surface in good condition. The park campground is very nice, but no hookups. There are two private campgrounds in Torrey with full hookups.

How is scenery/towing on the non interstate route following 64 to US 89, left at Kanab, right on 389 to Colorado City through Apple Valley to Hurricane. How is this route towing?
Thanks

RE: Centralized CG on Utah's east side or move every few days

Distances are too great to stay in one place.
From Bluff, you can day trip to Monument Valley, Hovenweep, Valley of Gods, Goosenecks, Natural Bridges Nation Monument.
From Moab, day trips are endless. Drop in on the visitors center in Moab and they will set you up. We always stay 4 or 5 days there. From there, I suggest 2 days at Capital Reef before moving on to Escalante.
Between Escalante and St. George is Bryce, and Zion.
