RE: Plugged into 50amp, getting 30amp

Ask campground to measure volts between the two hot legs. If it is 0 volts then they have a problem not you. We stayed in park that was wired wrong.

RE: pex tubing

cehck with lowes or home depot, they used to rent crimping tools and also used to sell compression fittings that will connect without crimping

RE: Norcold N841--tray freezing

What is your temp set for in the refrig? I had same problem of water freezing in the tray. When I lowered temp in the frig to a setting of 3 vice 7 the water stopped freezing and no more problems. I checked the internal temp at a setting of 3 and found out it was maintaining 40F. So in the past I was attempting to keep things colder than I should have.

RE: '04 Itasca Horizon D/P dash indicator problems, need help.

I would always recommend a call to Freightliner first they know their stuff and will save us a lot of time.

RE: House Batteries Not Charging while Driving.

Talk to manufacturer. Some motorhomes charge from the alternator and some do not. Take opinion out of the discussion and go with the facts.

RE: Atwood water heater temp

Based on what you have reported the problem has to be related to the switches. I would try some others or take them out and heat them up to see when they open.

RE: Atwood water heater temp

Given that the ECO and temp limit were properly replaced, I would disconnect the wire to one while the burner is on to see if it shuts off. If it does then the ECO/temp shutoff may not be properly installed or bad. These switches must be in good contact with the tank wall. If it does shut off the problem is with control board or gas solenoid.

RE: Engine Batteries

Check for poor connections at batteries, did you use deep cycle for start batteries?

RE: Need some info about awning repair

To center the fabric on the roller you just pull the fabric in the direction that you want it to go. When you have the fabric where you want it to be based on smooth rolling up or down, mark the roller and make sure the fabric is positioned properly before you roll it up. It may take two to move the fabric. One to pull and one to push on the roller. Mine mover readily.

RE: generator problems

Change your fuel filter on the D/G. It is a 15 min job and should solve your problem.

RE: Freightliner coolant tank

I replaced mine with one from Freightliner. New tank was about 135 dollars about 4 years ago. I keep checking and not indications of another leak.

RE: water heater

If you are seeing 120v on both sides of the element when energized, you are not putting current through the element. The voltage on the hot side should be higher than the neutral side of the element. Based on what you have described, I would suggest you look for an open on the neutral side of the element either in a wire nut or breaker.

RE: Genny quits under a heavy load

Sounds like your fuel filter needs to be replaced. My D/G will only run about 450 hours before it needs to have filter replaced.

RE: water heater not working

Your high temp switch for the electric is first place I would check. Look at your schematic for the heater and you should see where it is in the circuit. Then you have to find it. It is usually a manual reset.

RE: Hour meter

I would try removing and reinstalling the slip on connectors to the meter first and make sure there is a good connection. I doubt your meter has many hours on it so it should not have failed. If you can trace the wires to the generator you may have to remove and reconnect as above if the above does not work. Then maybe a new meter.

RE: black diesel exhaust smoke up mountians

Check your exhaust system for disconnects or holes. I had something similar that turned out to be a flex joint that had slipped off the turbo so much of the exhaust was exiting into the engine compartment. I also was running hotter than normal.

RE: Refrigerators

I would look to a residential electric that fits in the space if it meets your needs eg you do not boondock a lot. Full timers I know have done and are very satisfied.
