RE: New battery for TT what is best?

If you don't dry camp, don't boondock, don't use the battery... see where I am going with this? A battery should last 5 years at least. Why not wait till it fails?

RE: New battery for TT what is best?

If you don't dry camp, and always have electric, then there really is no need for 6 volt batts. Just get the same one.

There's an RV section? Hmmm, no, I had it in general. Thanks for the tip. Oh, and I priced it $900 lower than new.

Suggestions for yamaha generator

I'm selling my generator and have an ad on craigslist, but haven't gotten any nibbles. Do you think RV trader might be a better place?

RE: Winter RV camping

I had my entire trailer freeze with water in the lines. When it thawed out, I had no leaks. Those pipes seem to be pretty stretchy.

RE: Park provided TV service - Listings not available ?

Not sure I understand the problem. You have 50 channels but no listing? I guess you can channel surf and then write down each name/number on a paper?

RE: For Ford V-10 Truck Owners Please

How happy are you, how many miles have you owned, what is your towing/non towing MPG?..What repaire$ have you made? Are you happy with it?, any diesel envy?
Thnks, WolfieI love it. 139,000 miles. Towing 7/8 mpg, non towing 11-15. $3,000 repair to replace head after plug blew out (paid for by Toyota Care). New front ball joints. Would have gotten a diesel, but payments were too high.

RE: US 101 Oregon to central CA then I-5 to Yuma?

The drive from Longview to Astoria is a good two lane. Visit the Astoria Column if you can, pretty cool. (or whatever it is called) Heading down the coast in OR is a wonderful drive, take your time, stop here and there if you can.
The northern part of 395 is iffy in winter, it can actually close temporarily if bad enough, or have chain restrictions.

RE: Power inverter question .

Hi,
This is what is balanced and best for twin twelve volt batteries.
http://www.rubyorchid.com/RV/images/Pianotuna12V.png
As it often doesn't cost a dime more to do this, I think it is worth the trouble.
If you wish to understand the "why" surf here:
correctly interconnecting multiple batteriesThat is the ONLY way to connect them, not sure I see what you mean. If you connect them in series, they will equal 24 volts.

RE: Power inverter question .

Microwaves are picky. I have a Xantrex 2000 watt and I can run the microwave, but it doesn't run at full power and not for very long.
What do you need to heat up that the stove/oven won't handle?

RE: Five found dead in RV from generator

It is also unfortunate that the reporter was not more descriptive of how the CO leaked inside. One also has to wonder why the CO detector was not alarming.
According to the article not all of them went to bed at the same time so you would assume the alarm would be ringing. I had one go off in the trailer one night and I can tell you it is hard to ignore."It appears a small storage hatch on the RV did not close properly, allowing fumes from the generator to leak inside the vehicle, Langford said."

RE: 3g or 4g

Wasn't interested in getting 4g service, just wondered if a 4g capable phone would get better 3g or E reception. I'm about due for an upgrade so maybe this is the time. Have always been Alltel and Centel until ATT took over last winter in our area. Prior to ATT my phones although not smart always got maximum bars of signal strength in same campground that now just barely delivers via ATT. Verizon does work good, Sprint and Boost don't.I don't want to commit to 2 years if it isn't gonna get better by next spring, I'll switch to Verizon.More bars of signal strength do not equal faster data service.
