RE: looking at downsizing. so many choices. help!

I can tell you I downsized from 32' to 29' 3" and it made a huge difference. But . . . I downsized from a fiver to a TT, so that is apples to oranges. 4 to 6 feet means the distance from the ball to the front axle will be reduced by probably 2 to 3 feet. You will see some improvement, but I would not expect it to be radical on something that is still over 25 feet in length. Going to a fiver is going to make it harder to back. Also, a fiver in that length category will add about 3000 pounds to the dry weight. You will be out of the half ton towable category and need at least a 3/4 ton truck, no matter what the trailer manufacturer or dealer tries to tell you. With your truck, you are limited to a low profile 24' fiver at most. I recently bought a Skyline Koala. They don't seem to be concentrating on the mega trailers in that line as much as trying to cover the 20 to 26 foot market (most manufacturers these days don't want to sell anything shorter than 34 feet). But I think your seating options will be limited to the sofa and dinette. My Koala 26SS meets your top three requirements . . . it has two rockers in the back. The dry weight of it is actually more like 5300 pounds, not the just shy of 5000 pounds indicated in their brochure. This comes from the placard they are legally required to affix to it with the actual measured dry weight of that actual unit. The Koala's are lighter because they are using a composite called Azdel in the walls and are using the Schwintek in wall slideout mechanism. The jury is still out on the latter in my book. We will see if the dealer has straightened out the problems I have with mine. I like the looks of this trailer.

looking at downsizing. so many choices. help!

Currently have a 2009 Keystone Cougar 29RLS. Like the trailer and pulls ok behind the Toyota Tundra. Weight is about 9000 lbs loaded, little over 6500 I think dry. I keep it parked in a covered shed in a storage facility. The 33' length makes it very hard to turn and back into the shed. Anyone got any good options that would take 4-6' off the total length without losing many inside features? Will 4' really make much difference when backing and parking? Ive looked at many floorplans and Spree seems to have some that are very close to our needs, but wanted some ideas from you folks. Needs to have separate bedroomwould like to have more seating than just a sofa, this seems to be hard to do when reducing lengthneeds to have slide outwould not be opposed to a fifth wheel either

RE: Thinking of adding new exhaust and cold air intake

Thanks for all the advice. To one of the above, it is the flex fuel model so that is out. I guess the best advice was to put the saved money towards gas purchase. Makes sense.

RE: Thinking of adding new exhaust and cold air intake

snip... hope for a little more power and MPG at the same time. Don't we all... I'm not asking for miracles here. If you read the different websites they will swear it to be true. And since it is on the internet, I assumed it had to be true. :)

Thinking of adding new exhaust and cold air intake

2010 Toyota Tundra. 5.7 L V-8, 4wd. I'm towing a Keystone Cougar 29rls bumper pull (X-Lite version). Truck pulls the trailer fine. Yet we could always hope for a little more power and MPG at the same time. I have no doubt the Flowmaster or Magnaflow exhaust systems and cold air intakes do what they say but is it worth it. Have any of you experienced it? What about warranties? Does it void existing warranties or does it just void the warranty on that particular part? If Flowmaster offers a lifetime warranty, what difference would it make if you void the manufacture warranty. I would probably steer clear of the chips and such. Anybody with advice?

wingman gray or white?

Ordered a wingman for my TT and installed it very easily. Haven't tried it out yet. My question....Later I look at the box and there is a sticker on the box that says "gray model for home TV". This thing installed on the my TT antenna just fine. Is there really a difference? Can I expect the reception to be no better since i didn't get the "white" one?

RE: A/C condensation

I have also heard to crack a vent. Yet have also heard only to crack a vent in the winter. Any thoughts there?
