RE: a/c converter

The converter should supply 12v to the RV when it has 110v AC. Secondarily it should charge the battery.
Running the engine for a few minutes probably puts some charge on the battery.
Replace the converter.

RE: Help wiring new Hunter stat.

I printed out that diagram and studied it. The dealer said to use the "4 wire" part of the instructions that came with the Hunter that it should be close enough. :?
Use what he gave you in the drawing. It is correct and it works.
Why ask the dealer anyway??

RE: MS Streets and Trips....GPS mode

I've been researching that also. I've been told and have read reviews that this antenna is better than the one included with the "software kit"
GPS antenna
That is a GPS puck/receiver, not an antenna.
Yes, it is a better unit than what comes with S&T.

RE: MS Streets and Trips....GPS mode

You can use any GPS puck. You do not have to use one that comes with the software. If you don't like wires you can use a bluetooth puck if your laptop has bluetooth.
I have used a Holux GPS Slim 236 for several years.
There is only one version of the software. Add any GPS puck/receiver you want.

RE: Where do you buy new tires from?

When I needed tires I took a look at what was available, decided on a specific tire, went to the manufactures web site and they had a search for dealers in the area that sold the RV size tires. I made calls and got quotes, ordered the tires and had them installed.

RE: Towed electric cord

Give the front enough slack to make turns and tie the rest off on the tow bar.
I have a straight six wire and tie it off using a tarp tie.

RE: " DIRT DAUBERS"

If you have mud daubers in your area or where you are going you need screens. If you have a vibration in the A/C there is no need to ask. Get a screwdriver and get up on top to pull the shroud.

RE: Scoop on internet access? Newbie welcomes advice!

Just remember, any internet connection through a wireless carrier is dependent on your proximity to a cell tower, just like your phone.

RE: Shore power automatic switch to inverter.

If you get a pass through inverter you do not need any transfer switching. The inverter does the switching.

RE: Converter failing... I wonder

Probably not the converter. It would not cause 110v AC to go out and return without a 110v breaker trip.
Check all wiring from shore power connector and main breaker panel.

RE: DSL

This will be a challange. If campgrounds have any internet connection it is usually poor quality WiFi. You will have trouble finding what you are looking for. Start looking now.

RE: roof ac

There is a fan under the shroud on top of the MH.
Especially mud dauber nests on the fan blades of this fan.

RE: Battery water level

Why 'just over the plates' ?
The water reserve of the cell is 'just over the plates' to the bottom ring. If everyone filled to just over the plates and checked water levels at the frequency of most there would be a lot of batteries with exposed plates.
A battery in good condition and a three stage charger should allow you to fill the batteries to 1/4 inch below the ring without boiling over.
If a battery is doing that I would get out the hydrometer and check all cells in the bank. A bad cell will cause a good three stage charger to put out voltages that are out of whack.
I have had six 6v batteries, interstates, on my Freedom 458 three stage charger for for six years and always filled each cell to 1/4 inch below the fill ring and have never had a battery cell boil over. They get filled twice a year.

RE: Dometic RM 2652

Could be a problem with the fridge light. Tape the arm down that turns on the light so it won't come on when you open the door and try again.
Any of the 12v lights dim? Battery or converter problem. The convereter should power the fridge when plugged in.
