RE: Bug Roller for your ceiling and lights

As one of the World's foremost proponents of the fly, and as the founder of the "Save the Fly" movement, as well as the best selling Author of "Fly's...we need to give them the right to co-exist with Humans"... (Available on Kindle Books) I find myself deeply offended about people here on the forum advocating rollering flys with lint rollers, shooting them with rubber band projectiles and even spraying them with toxic substances or (shudder!) smashing them!
Congressman Marvin Bean Counter, is the President of the "Save the Fly Society" and is currently trying to get Congress to ban the Senseless fly killings and instead mandate a Government program of posting any area you want to remain 'fly free' with Federally Approved signs.
And $30 billion dollars will be set aside to teach flys how to read...

RE: Running roof AC while underway

The RV Furnace will at the most blow out at freeway speeds and attemp a couple of re-lites. The roof A/C can and will work when traveling. Since you are running the genny to use the roof A/C, in cold weather you can also run the genny to power a good electric heater to warm the interior.

RE: Wrong Size Tires????

"Standards, options & specifications subject to change without notice.
Features vary by production date
Please contact your dealer for details.
All CrossRoadsRV products are covered by a Limited Warranty."
An awful lot of Trailers in that size range are equipped with 14" tires however. It certainly wouldn't be something that would keep me awake nights...I've had both tire sized on our 7 Jayco's over the past 30+ years of RVing. Lowerto the ground would be the only concern on some trilers with low ground clearance.
The DEALER is the go to guy...he is responsible and has already got you money! In the name of customer service he should "man up" and do the right thing, providing there is proper cleatance to make the switchover safe.
HOWEVER...CrossRoads is a great customer service company..and your dealer is the "go to guy" on this issue. If he can't or won't get authorization from CrossRoads to make the changeover, then escalate it to CrossRoads Customer Service.

RE: How do I find Inspectors before buying?

A 100 point inspection by a qualified survey company will run around $700.00. A dealer will almost certainly find issues so he can charge you money to "fix" stuff.
That said, here is a pretty good list that you can use...

RE: Eternabond

You can put Eternabond on the seams any time you wish, but wait till the RV manufacturers warranty is done (usually a year). As said, sometimes the RV Manufactuers get testy during the warranty period about what they consider modifications.
You can put 303 on the membrane roof...it wouldn't hurt anything. But it is not recommended by the companies that manufacture the roofing material such as Dicor.
As a matter of fact, they don't like the use of any coatings.
It's simply not needed, as the roof is already protected from UV/Sun Damage.
The white layer on top of the black membrane IS the UV protectant, and it is made to sacrifice itself and "slough off" to protect the roofing material. Thats what the "white streaks" or "black streaks" you see on the side of your RV after a rain are.
You can keep the roof clean, but you don't have to be fanatic about it like some seem to like to do. It's not a hospital operating room floor after all!

RE: TC sitting for long time, how to put back in service?

The tanks can be sanitized with a diluted bleach solution. Then follow that up with a good rinse and maybe some baking soda. The water pump needs to be turned on and checked. The electrical systems both 12 volt and 120 v needs to be tryed.
Everything else like the water heater, refrigeratior and furnace needs to be blown out with canned air, checked for insect or animal nests, and a started with a fresh tank of propane.
Also check the refrigerator rear vent and roof vent for nests.
It should all work. Of more concern is if the camper has a cabover front window...they are often a huge cause of leaks, as well as the roof vents.
Good luck and keep us posted!

RE: another dog treat causing illness

Many of the Dog Treats at Walmart...especially "Chicken Jerkey Treats" are "Made in China". Target is not much better...and Milo's Dog treats are a mix...some USA and some Chinese. READ THE LABELS!
"Three of the Milo’s Kitchen™ varieties — Beef Jerky, Chicken Meatballs, and Beef Sausage Slices with Rice — are made in the U.S.- The Chicken Jerky variety is made at a facility in China."

RE: Convert your RV’s propane water heater to gas/electric

DIY...very easy. Basically screw it in and supply it with 120 volt electricity. They work on Atwood and Suburban Water Heaters.
Atwood has an aluminum tank that won't rust, the Suburban has a glass lined tank and a anode rod to keep rust away.

HottRood has been selling those things for many years, we have used them in the past when we had a propane only water heater a couple of Jayco's ago...worked great!
