RE: 5th wheels with these requirements

In ALberta a lot of people on rigs use Artic Fox. It has the winter package.
Downside is I dont think they are in production any more. Maybe more people have more info on Artic Fox.
ALso, working on the road with the family in a RV is not uncommon in ALberta. Go for and have fun.

RE: Heartland Augusta

I dont understand why people get bashed for posting a complaint
in their first post, and what would make them want to come back for more discussion.
They have every right to air a complaint about any part of the rv world. Thats what its all about.
Andsince Ive been a member of the heartland forum since 2007, there have been nasty things said about the compnay and about some of the members. Its a 2 way street. ANd some members have beenkicked out from being members.
Any yes they have produced a lot of good good quality units out there.
Sometimes things go wrong on the line and no fault intended.

RE: dish pay as you go

Ours is 22 of the month to the next month...I dont believe it runs on 1-30. Also, you dont have to cancel...it just shuts off at the end of your 30 days since you prepay. It you want to continue service pay it before your due date. They send statements out early inline so you have time to pay.We are very happy with this service.

RE: Awnings for fiver windows

We had our dealer install the extra awning on the window on the
non-door side.
for the rear window, we had a guy at the park we stayed at make
the flat screen for us.
Both serve there purpose very well. And the smaller awning the dealer installed is the same color and cloth as the 2 large awnings door side.

RE: King Size Bed

Our Bighorn had the king bed. The model was 3055, and I think it was around 33 or 34 feet long.
Check out the Heartland line. Lots of room in the bedroom and closet in that particular model.

RE: Onan for 5th

Very good information - gives us lots to think about. Propane was not evena option we were thinking about...but now its on the list.
Its logical to use propane.
The Honda genny was in our discussion (even though I didn't post about portable) for other usages away from the RV.
I like the idea of starting the power source from inside.
We will also look at the various cost difference.
Thanks everyone for the good straight talk.

Onan for 5th

We are looking at a generator, probably Onan, since our unit is wired
with the starting switch. Just not sure which model - gas or diesel - and enough power to run air and micro, -not at the same time though.
What is your recommendation or what are you using?
Thx

RE: Dust Storm Advisory

Then best lesson out of that article, is to shut your lights off.
It goes against human logic to shut lights off - but makes sense so no one follows your parked lights.
Thanks for the info!

RE: Gluten Free Camping: It's Not As Hard As It Sounds

My nephews girlfriend has the same issues and had to eat gluten free.
I saw the other day a new bread maker with the gluten cycle on it. I was really surprised. Has anyone tried on e of the new bread makers?

RE: RV parks near Phoenix or Tucson with golf and activities?

Out of 6 years we never had problems getting sites for Feb and March.
All RV resorts have sites open - just phone and ask them.
A few years back we drove to El Mirage, then to PalmCreek in CasaGrande, they both had open sites. In Feb.
Both have executive courses, lots of activities.
Tons of RV resorts around.

RE: Anyone heading south next week on I- 15 from Alberta

The road is good, if the weather turns nasty, they don't hesitate
to close the highways. They do a good job of clearing them also.
Watch the weather systems,daily.
The worst area all the way down is the Monida
pass, it can be a clear as a bell, or nasty with no notice.
Its a nice drive, enjoy it, beautiful country to see.
PM me if you want any direct onfo.

RE: Carraige Closed Down

Yes, It is obvious that there was some very negative interference
with this company ....probably from previous employees.
Walked that line - bitter employees can be a menace. Sounds like from the way RV'rs are talking about uhapppy dealers, ifyou have no dealers to move your product your sales are going to plummet.
So maybe previous district managers casued rifts between the dealers and the corp. With a strong objective.
