RE: Class-A towing set-up service in DALLAS-Ft.WORTH area ???

I can't help you other than to suggest calling Blue Ox and talking to a customer service manager for a reference to the someone in the area.

RE: The 96 Monaco Exec I want to buy has Aged Out Tires...

If the terms of the negotiation are price subject to inspection then you have a clean and clear reason to go back. If the deal is as is where is with no inspection subjects then we're back to gentleman's agreement. IE your word on the deal. Now if you care about his feelings toward you then suck it up and deal. But if you don't care and it won't affect your life, offer $3K less when he balks walk and keep looking. Just make the offer in writing and show his wife...
in 3 weeks when he hasn't had another offer and his DW is nagging him to sell.....
Negotiating should have tension in the process, if not someone is getting hosed :D
Just my humble opinion, worth what you paid for it.

RE: Considering a MH

Good news for the wiggle is that the Pickup is 6-7000# and the MH is double or triple that. Bigger dog for the tail to wag :B

that sounds like a very expensive test drive ;) (read you've found your new coach)
Good luck on the negotiating. That's when the fun really starts.

RE: Considering a MH

FWIW my 35J has fit into a 18' slot in a WA State park ;)
I did hang over the pavement part of the site a wee bit....
so while size does matter it may not matter as much as you fear.

RE: Considering a MH

You may wish to find a 20500 chassis vs the 18K one. that will leave you with more tow 'room" in the GCVWR. our 35J weighs in at ~18500 with the 20500 chassis so we still have the full 5K to play with ;)
Keep in mind quite a few MH can't use a weight distribution hitch so all the 500 hitch weight will be on the rear axle. Upside is you have a very long wheelbase to keep it under control compared to a pickup.

RE: Storing your Class A

Depends on the brand. This is truly a RTFM type thing. Ours says jacks up but IIRC some Monaco say jacks down. Both are correct for their respective coaches.
Nice and simple huh ? ;)

RE: Learn Something New Every Day...

LOL first rule of troubleshooting:
What did you just mess with/change? That is the most likely culprit.
Then:
Is it plugged in?
Is it turned on?
fourth and just as important, known good connection?
KISS when troubleshooting works best ;)
Not to say I haven't ignored my own advice too many times to count by over thinking it.....

RE: Should price of gas prohibit me from purchasing?

for me I pay more in storage than annual fuel bills. On top of that I pay monthly payments, insurance and maintenance. So no this isn't cheap for me. But parking the darn thing costs me more than driving it :(
so I might as well drive.....
Now would I enter the RV world today if I didn't have anything? Not so sure. Not that I'm in, I'll stay in and enjoy.

RE: Dual receiver/adapter to carry bike rack & toad

another idea is 2 on the roof of the TOAD and 3 off the TOAD hitch.
unless of course your TOAD is like mine with no roof and roof racks, while possible are a PITA taking the roof up and down :(
5 on a hitch will be tight. I have a Thule 4 bike rack and with my bike (Y frame), DW who has a "normal" frame and the 2 boys bikes it is really messy to cram them all on. They fit but I hate doing it so I leave Mom and Dad's bikes at home more often then not.

RE: 2012 Newmar KingAire vs. 2012 Azimut 40

take the most expensive thing you can do to your MH and multiply it by 10X for boating :( Of course flying takes the most expensive thing you can do on a boat and multiplies it by 10x ;)
For me my boat is a Nordhavn 64. But then my coach payment would be less than the moorage for such a beast.
MH are more useable in more places. Full timing though could be done both ways. Both are fun, what does the "Admiral" want?

RE: Barrel chair vs Euro Recliner questions

FWIW my barrel chair is in place but get's used as a coat rack and camera/junk storage area. Not sure the last time anyone sat in it. And no ours isn't comfortable (too upright).
I plan on replacing ours with a shoe rack on shelves and a scuppered table top. Then add a proper coat rack attached to it.

RE: Georgetown 351DS VE - Should I buy one??

how many have you looked at? IMHO you need to look at 10-20 floor plans before you decide. There are quite a few bunk models to choose from now. in 2007 that model (or it's equivalent) did not impress me, however maybe they have got their fit and finish together since then. I haven't looked.

RE: A cheap month in Hawaii

if you want real volcanoes that spew lava then you need the Big Island, if you just want really really tall mountains that are dead volcanoes then Maui. If you want quiet, Kauai. If you want too many tourists crowding our your time, Waikiki ;)
But yeah, nothing is cheap in HI, they have to ship almost everything. Even Pineapples from Costa Rica and Mac nuts from Indonesia etc. Coffee however is good if you find real Peabody (but it ain't cheap).
However I sure could spend alot of time on Maui or Kauai, so darn pretty!

who's the biggest local trucking company? Call them and ask their fleet manager where he buys his tires. Probably a reputable shop and decent pricing.

RE: Leveling with slides

it also depends on the coach. Mine says to level then slides out others are the opposite.
and yes after a couple days or often overnight I relevel if it is really off.
5-10 000# per jack is alot of weight for that tiny little (relative) footprint.
