RE: How fast do you tow your 5'er

This posting does nothing but prove to me there are a whole lot of nuts on the road. What the heck is the rush. Going to your funerals? 60 MPH is a safr speed towing a monsterous 5th wheel. My car has 180 mph rated tires. Does one travel at that speed? Not. perhaps these cowboys should install V speed rated tires and take their rigs to racetracks.

RE: LT tires, BFG Commercial TA or Michelin XPS Rib?

Replaced the ST******that comes std with majority of " American made trailers" with Michelin XPS. These tires weigh 2x as much as the trailer tires. They must be underrated and that probably explains why people don't have the blowouts. Can't go wrong with the BF Goodrich or Michelins.

RE: To Install Slideout Awning or Not?

Never had them on the 3 trailers we have owned and never missed them. Just another item that needs maintenance. Cleaning my awning is a pita. Sure don't need more to look after and I see no reason they would not be magnets for mildue. Takes 2 minutes to sweep any debris off slide roofs.

RE: What the difference in PVC rubber roof and EPDM rubber roof?

All I can tell is my rubber roof leaves black streaks continuously on the side walls. Vinyl roof was much cleaner on our previous unit

RE: Questions about 2010 jayco Eagle 351 RLSA

Why would you need to replace anode on a 2010 trailer? Should last approx 5 yrs unless the water you use is highly corrosive

RE: Toilet won't hold water

Seal is an easy replacment if you find the simple obstructions are not the cause. If Sea/land toilet it's a 5 minute fix with the seal kit

RE: Who uses a gas TV with their 5th wheel?

Pulling a 33' 12,000# 5th wheel with our 2009 F250 V10 and have no regrets whatsoever. Truck is used everyday for short drive to work when not towing and certainly more livable than an oil burner. Only negative is a bit thirsty but from what I have heard same era deisel no better and deisel fuel costs more at the moment

RE: F-250 Towing Advice

Check your pin weight. May need to redistribute some weight to rear of trailer. Mine squats a touch buts tows amazingly. Never know it's behind us till I look in the rearview.

RE: Cardinal vs Blue Ridge vs Cedar Creek

I traded a Arctic Fox for a Blue Ridge as it had higher R ratings and in Jan of last year took it to the Phoenix area. Found the unit to be cold and drafty, and not a quality built unit. While the factory service/support was great, the overall quality of the unit was not. I would not recommend a Blue Ridge. Can't understand your cold and drafty comments. Are the windows open? Any trailer is normally sealed quite well unless there are obvious faults as seeing daylight thru cracks or openings. Ps Blue Ridge is a budget line of the Cardinal

Dynamax 5th wheels

Anyone out there with a Dynamax Trilogy 5th wheel? Saw one at rv show WOW. Hoping for a smaller model but from what I saw I was totally impressed.

RE: Great deal on Ford Hitch and prep kit

Works with my heavy rubber bed mat. PS Elite hitch works flawlessly.

RE: Reese Elite vs B&W Companion Hitch

Have the Elite hitch and most satisfied with it. Have a 12,000# Cardinal attached and tows flawlessly. Easy hook up, no chucking, etc.

RE: New Tires for the New 5th Wheel

Don't waste your money on nitrogen. Have them inflate with helium. Look what it does for ballons. :h Just joking....

RE: 5th wheel bucking

I have absolutely no chucking, bouncing or problems towing our 5th wheel. Have Reese signature hitch, stock F250,stock hitch pin and only trailair suspension. Most of the time we forget the 33' 5th wheel is behind us. Not sure why some people have so many problems with their setups. Could be improper loading of trailer?

RE: 2008 Forest River Cardinal

Our 03 Cardinal has been a good unit, only issue has been the China tires. Hope you are on 3rd set of tires by now. Cheap tires should be long gone

RE: 2008 Forest River Cardinal

More than happy with our 2008 Cardinal 30 RKLE. Great layout, easy towing, Not too big not too small. No issues and we average 50 nights x 3 years so far. Had plans of upgrading to a Cameo but with their demise I will hang on to the Cardinal as I have not seen anything to trade up to yet.
