RE: fresh water tank not filling

It sounds like your vent line(s) might be kinked. Keep in mind though that your vents are smaller than the fill line, so if you turn the hose on too high you will fill it faster than it can vent. This can either cause the tank to buckle (bad) or the water will puke back out at you (annoying). It sounds like you experienced the tank puking on you. As you fill the tank, you should hear some venting. It should gurgle and/or whisper a little. Try shutting off the hose for a second and listen for venting. I use a filler tube that has a shutoff so I can turn off the flow every few minutes and let the venting catch up with the filling. But if you're not getting any venting at all, get underneath it and locate the vent line(s) and see if they're kinked. Also, your tank might actually be two tanks tied together with a line that keeps the equalized. If so, then they'll vent at different rates. So if you're filling the tank too fast, you'll have two problems: it can't vent quickly enough and it can't equalize to the other tank quickly enough. So it will seem like your tank is full, but it just hasn't caught up yet.

RE: fresh water tank not filling

Don't be too hard on yourself about wasting the water. You don't have much alternative. Only filling it halfway with water and adding bleach really won't do much, because it will only sanitize the lower half of the tank. I'd fill it up all the way and then sanitize it. How flat is it in your part of Chatsworth? I know drainage can be hit-and-miss in the valley. I'd hate to dump a tank for of bleached out algae in front of my house and have it sit there in a puddle. I'd be afraid The City would show up and fine me. Maybe tow it up to the top of De Soto before you pull the handle.

RE: New truck bed clearance

And when you need ONE weight distribution spring bar to replace a missing one, they'll have it. They'll charge a premium for one bar, but that's no surprise. It's a good shop. Sounds like you have experience with loosing things Dave! I even know right where I lost it, flipping a u-turn on Garlock road in the rain and in the dark the first time we ever went to Spangler. I combed the roadside for a long time, but never could find it again. I think about it every time I drive past the curve on Garlock. All that trouble just to take the wrong route through Randsburg anyway. Live & learn...

RE: Oregon Toys, and riding...

I'm a long time lurker and this post made me decide to sign up. In Oregon I pay less for gas than Northern California and they pump it for me. I get nothing but smiles and waves from LEOs while on my quads. I feel welcome to have a good time, not under the boot of the MAN. Over the last several years most of my riding vacations have been in Oregon; it's convenient, welcoming, and fun. However, you know what they say about opinions....! Welcome to the forum. We're glad you finally joined us. I have a brother up in your county. You guys all know each other, right? :)

RE: brakes sticking?

Good call. That was the cause of a major failure on my trailer. When WW was doing their "prophylactic repair" of my trailer years ago, I had them service the axles & brakes. They reconnected the brakes wrong so that they were sprung all the way open. This caused the brakes to rub against the drum and overheat, frying the hub and burning the wheel off. Fortunatly it did not fly off the rig while traveling, that could have majorly changed the situation !! Exactly. It was pretty close though. The wheel was tipped in at a really steep angle. It came right off in my hands when we got to camp.

RE: spell check

It doesn't work. The forum admins are aware of the problem, but I don't think it's a high priority for them to fix. They have their hands full with all of the company's commercial sites. You're better off installing a spell checker for your browser. Google Chrome has one built in. I'm sure there are plug-ins for Firefox and IE. What browser do you use?

RE: A Good Quality Grill

Anyone got a link for the hose that connects to the factory LP quick connect on the Fuzion? I have an Extend a Flow t-connector on my LP tank for my Webber Q. It's threaded (not a quick connect). It works great though.

RE: Landing Gear Troubleshooting

and don't forget to update your signature. I tried to do that but it doesn't seem to change. I'll check with Admin and see if you're in the doghouse. You didn't do anything that would have got your sig locked, did you? What have you been telling them about me Dave? I'm a nice guy, really......Yea, nice guy I tell ya! I double-checked with the boss. Admin says there are no locks on your account, so it must be user error! :B After you type the changes into your sig, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit Changes button. That should save your update. Let me know if you get any errors.

Hey Sixohh, That looks like a lot of fun. I resized your photos for you to fit within the page. Take a look at the Photo FAQ if you have any questions about the photo sizing guidelines. Have fun!

RE: Cable coax. input outside of WW...Any input???

You need to bypass the signal booster inside the trailer. That's the only way to get a.straight through connection to the dish. The dish gets power from the receiver and that power can't be interrupted by a splitter or that signal booster. It's an easy fix though. Here are the instructions. www.flamingsquid.com/images/satellite_rewire.pdf Thats pretty sweet! and easy! I wont have time before the trip to get this done so what happens if I run the satelite and the receiver outside and just plug it into the coax jack outside? will it not work at all? You mean leave the box outside? I guess that would work, but you'd have to go outside to change the channel. You're better off just snaking the cable through the window and skipping that jack altogether. Also, why does it say satelite ready but the plugs behind the TV? how does that actually work? That's always been my beef too. It says that because the cable inside is sufficient gauge to work with a dish. Big deal!!

RE: On the Road Flat Change Question

I think a big 20 ton bottle jack would be the hot ticket for situations when AAA is a few hours away or when I'm off road in the middle of the desert. That's the easy one to fix. Just use a shovel to dig under the flat tire. Plus you're not on the roadside trying to keep your hat from blowing off. Your wife can fix you a sandwich and your family can sit around in camp chairs. That's the ideal scene for fixing a flat.

RE: Voltage Epic Wireless Back-Up Camera

I recently turned one of my old Android phones into a backup camera. I took an old HTC EVO, downloaded a free app to stream video. Took my current phone as well as my tablet, downloaded a free app to view stream. I had a suction cup thing laying around my house, I took that and put my old EVO in it. Stuck it to my truck tailgate...use it for wireless backup cam. Stuck it on hauler...use it as wireless backup cam. I also stick it on my hauler at night when at the dunes and keep an eye on my toys. You can turn the LED light off and on and it works surprisingly well. You are basically using a 8MP camera...so the image quality is phenomenal. That's some serious geek Jujutsu, Mr. Cluster. I love it. How long does the battery last? And what keeps it from going to sleep?
