RE: Funeral Edict?

You should always stop and pull over to the side of the road when you come upon a funeral procession. Even if you are going the opposite direction you stop. Stopping for a few minutes will not be the end of the world. Show some respect and pull over.

RE: Axle spread uneven

We have AL-KO torsion axles on our fifth wheel and even when parked straight, when the ground is uneven the distance between the tires will change. Each wheel moves independent in an arc. So if you have torsion axles that might be why it is spaced differently.

RE: Electric water heater element??

On our water heater the switch and light inside is for gas, the light only comes on when gas does not light or runs out of gas. The switch for electric operation is outside under the water heater cover behind the gas regulator (small black switch)with no lights for electric operation. We have a suburban gas/electric water heater. Check your gas if you have a light inside on.

RE: Anyone else name their rig?

Our fifth wheel is named "Camper" and the truck is "Truck". We have two dogs (Westies)that travel with us. When ever we say "camper" the dogs run to the camper door, and when we say "truck" they go to the truck, this makes it easy to get them loaded up. Not a fancy name but the dogs understand it.

RE: Installing a Battery Cutoff Switch

Always disconnect the neg. side first on a battery. When you jump start a car you connect the pos. first and then the neg., then when you remove cables you take the neg. side off first. In the fire service we always cut the neg. battery cable on wreaked cars. The sites below are some that sell battery disconnects and all go on the neg. side of the battery. Also battery current moves - to + , positive attracts negative. Voltage moves neg. to pos.
Sorry do not know how to make clicky.

RE: Awning saver (clamp)

The roller lock fails and the awning will unroll if the wind hits it just right going down the road. The arms do not have to come out.I have seen it happen. We use two Awning Clamps on our fifth wheel, 18 foot awning.

RE: AC Gasket Help Needed

Stick it to the A/C where the old one was. Makes it easier to change later. Ours is that shape also to go around the air duct.

RE: gooseneck versus 5th wheel hitch

You opened a can of worms. We have a goose-neck adapter on our fifth wheel no problems. Dealer installed and stated in writing no problem with warranty. Also we do not have a Lambert frame.

RE: Towing Insurance?

Our fifth wheel insurance has towing on the policy. And covers the truck and trailer when away from home on a trip. In a campground on the road and if the truck and trailer or not together at the time but on the same trip I am covered. Check your insurance policy on your trailer you might already be covered.

RE: Did I dream this......

Only difference on our 2000 F250 and aF350 of the same yeari is ours doea not have rear spring spacers. And that is confirmed using vin numbers and spec sheet. But it is still a F250.

RE: Powder coated Vision wheels

My Ford rims I ceramic coated black with black center cap I also pin striped the wheel rim edge red. The pin stripe breaks up all the black and looks good. So I vote all black and maybe add a pin stripe.

RE: Help- crossing Louisiana

Bridge at Burr Ferry is that low. Travel Trailer should be OK, Fifth Wheel problem. We go to Anacoco and cross at the Toledo Bend Dam. Road comes out just west of Burr Ferry at Burkeville TX. Have gone to 190 but is long way around.

RE: Secure Awning

We use the "RV Awning Clamp". It is keeping the awning from unrolling that needs to be secured, not the arms. You need a Awning Roller Pin Lock or a Awning Clamp to keep the roller from moving. You can see one here, I did not pay that price for it I got one for a lot less elsewhere.

RE: What is the REAL fuel economy savings with an aero nose TT?

IMO the front is not the problem it is the vacuum off the square rear of the trailer that is the problem. The front of the towing combo is the truck pulling the trailer, the truck is what deflects air onto or around the trailer that makes a lot of the differences in towing. Get rid of the vacuum at the rear and that is were you can pick up better MPG. That is just my opinion.
