RE: Summer heat can be deadly without our being aware. I'm a volunteer fireman. For cooling off over-heated firemen the best method is to submerge their hands and forearms in cool (NOT cold) water. Lost a great vacation spot A couple of years ago we went to Canon City, Co for a week. There are lot's of things to do there, and most of the attractions allow pets. We were able to take our dogs into the Royal Gorge park and the souvenir shops near the campground allowed the dogs inside. The best, however was a park called Buckskin Joe's. It was a collection of old buildings set-up as an old time town. Some of the buildings were in use; one was a candy store and there was a restaurant. The dogs were allowed everywhere, even the restaurant! They offered the dogs bowls of water at the candy store and while we ate at the restaurant. They were also allowed on the wagon ride and the train ride. It was so neat to be able to actually DO something fun with the dogs. They seemed to really enjoy it, although Callie may have been a little too interested in the penned turkeys! I wanted to go again this year, but sadly, found it closed last fall. RE: Tent Trailer Conversion to Flatbed I did that once with a Scotty camping trailer. I separated the camper from the trailer. I used the camper for a fishing cabin. RE: Deciding on a 5th or bumber pull We bought a fifth wheel because it is more stable for towing. If you're going to leave yours parked most of the time then that really wouldn't be a consideration.
