A "C" to a "5" ?

Have had a C for a couple of years now- 2009 28 QB from Jayco and we were in Middlebury, Indiana visiting the factory when we really took a hard look at the 5th wheel. We are considering making a change which first means getting a truck that can pull it. Can anyone offer some advice/suggesstions or things to look out for as we begin doing research all over again.
We liked our Jayco class C, are they a good brand for this type of RV or are there others to really consider?
Thanks for any insight.

4 bike and carrier combo?

Anyone out there with a bike rack for 4 bikes and a carrier combo that works in a Class III hitch? Gettin tired of loading 4 bikes in the back bedroom- sure would be nice if something is out there. I have seen 3 bike combo rack and carrier but not 4. Was thinking of putting a hitch in the front of the MH too.
Thanks.

What Did I Do?

Help! Please. You know Motorhome magazine each year has the top ten brain freeze things that rvers have done- ie drive off with antenna still up. Tonight I was fixing things up for the summer and needed to re attach a couch bracket to the wall. Well the screw I used was just a little too long and it started to go thru the wall of the rv. Thankfully, I realized what I was doing and caught myself before the scre went all the way through, but it did chip away at the fiberglass and it's no bigger than a pencil tip or so.
Any suggestions as to what I can do now, since I have a very small hole in the side of the rig? Silicone? Bubblegum? Any ideas would be great.
Last time I try and do work at 10:00 at night.

Front Hitch

We're thinking about installing a hitch on the front of our 2009 Jayco that has a Ford E450. Has anyone had success doing this themselves and what maufacturer is best for something like this? We want the extra flexibility it provides when bringing bikes, firewood etc...

Ripped Cover

First time using the Tyvek cover and just got a nice hole in the corner after first snow fall and ice. I did not over tighten the straps as recommended. But now that I have a hole - 3-4 inches, any suggestions on how to fix while still covering MH? Is duct tape ok for now until cover comes off and I can sew back together? Any ideas would be great.

LP in Winter

I've heard that it is good to have a nearly full tank of gas with additives right before you store for winter. However, I am practically on empty for my LP tank- should that be filled before going under the cover for the winter? We don't plan on doing any winter camping this season so there would not be a need for it.
Thanks.

RE: Acadia National Park Maine

Was just there for two weeks in August. We stayed at the KOA right after you cross the bridge-it sat on the water and we paid extra to be on the water. It was ok would have rather stayed ay the Bar Harbor Campground but they do not take reservations and we got there late. In Acadia we stayed at Blackwoods CG and we loved it. Clean/quiet easy walk to the ocean to walk the cliffs. Limited use of generator is encouraged.
We would go back to Blackwoods and try to get into Bar Harbor campground next time.

Infrared Thermometers for Tires

I have a 30' with E450 and 16" Michelin and I was given this device as a gift. Has anyone ever used one? And what would be considered dangerous temps? I have no idea what to look for.
Thanks.

Digital Infrared Thermometers

I have one of these devices and I think I read in a magazine about using this for the tires. As anyone ever used one to measure their tires temp? And if so, what would be considered a dangerous reading or temp? I have a 30' Class C with 16" Michelin tires.
Thanks for any insight.

Acadia NP

I guess if the gov't shuts down Aug 2 b/c of the budget issue, Acadia and other np's would shut down? Has this happened before and if it has what do you do if you already paid for the camping site?

A Leak!- Warranty Issue??

Well, have had a Jayco Greyhawk for one year (bought a 2009 leftover) and in the spring had a roof inspection done at the dealer and they added some sealant here and there and just this past week during a major storm the rain was coming into the shower through a screw in the sky light. The interesting thing- I unscrewed the light in the shower and the underneath of the skylight was dry, yet the wood around the perimeter was wet.
Is this a warranty issue since I still have 2 years on the manufacturer and the roof has a warranty from Jayco of I believe 10 years?? Also considering they just inspected 5 months ago.
Unfortunately, cant get in for 3 weeks-

Class C and NOISE

When going on my test drive last year- of course we only were allowed to drive for a few miles locally. Fast foward to today- when driving several hundred miles to Lake George, NY from NJ, I thought I would need ear plugs. Wind noise from all directions, chirping noises from cabinets, the stove etc.. It seems that I can pick up every nuiance with noise and it drives me nuts. Are there any Class A or C's that don't rattle or sound like the appliances or cabintes are falling apart? I have a Jayco Greyhawk and listening to all these noises drives us crazy.
