RE: Head Lights

I have a 2004 F250 CC and I switched mine to Silverstars Headlights. They are composite type. Silverstar also comes "Ultra" which are said to be brighter I got mine at Autozone and have seen them at Walmart. I have had them for the last ten years and I have them in every car/truck I own. Just my opinion and it's whats works for me.

RE: question about shocks

I have a 2004 F250 CC and I'm just curious how do you know if/when you need new shocks? I have 76k on the truck and mainly use it to tow my TT.Thanks for the help. Thanks Skip and Jarlaxle I bought the truck used so I assume they are OEM. It seems to ride fine still and Im just asking as it's my first 3/4 ton truck. I always try to do preventive maintence as I can I just relpaced my brake pads on the front and ended up replaceing all four rotors and pads. WOW that was hit to my wallet. But safety first also my mechanic says that I have a axle bearing going so thats my next project. Thanks for help I plan on keeping the truck for a long time so I'm taking care of things as needed. If they are OEM, you needed them about 76,000 miles ago. You will realize just how bad the OEM shocks are when you replace them with something better!

RE: I-69 and I-65 In Indiana

Hi lasttime over to Indy there was road construction....redesigning the roads as they moved the airport exits etc....465 does go around and I pulled around Indy during a heavy thunderstorm on my way to PF. That was so much fun. But I managed to pull around with no problems I was I74 to 465 South to I65 Good Luck

RE: First time in Gatlinburg!

Hi we stayed at creekside in PF end of June/July 4th week a few years ago. YES the traffic will be bad but its really bad on the weekends we stayed tues thru wensday there are back roads to get around and there's also a trolly service that runs from Gaitlinburg to PF and even out to Dollywood/splashcountry(waterpark) As for food there are plenty of choices and every place we went was worth it.Good Luck and hope you have as much fun as we did.I goggled for information on all and you can get alot of info. One of my favorite places to eat was the Alabama Grill (I'm a fan of Alabama) and the food was good The only thing we wished we hadnt done was Ripley's Museum. But we did enjoy the rest and we took the trolly most of the time while there also (a local gave us this hint) If you plan on doing Dollywood go on a tues wens or thurs There will be a crowd but the weekends are over crowded. We did a thurs and it wasn't bad(also it was the jul 4th week when we did go)

RE: HID light conversion?

Hi I have had Silver star Bulbs for 10 years in mt last TV and only had one burn out during that time I had Daytime running lights so they were always on. I have replaced them all in all my vehicles and it's one of the first things I do. I havent tried the Ultra's but I know some who have them and as satified as I am with mine also my local autozone says the sylvania now makes a silver star that is even brighter than the ultras are. I drive alot at night and there is quite a difference in how bright they are I also found siler stars for my driving lights and that helps too. I can see the difference because I havent changed the driving lights in my explorer yet but have done the headlights and what a difference.Current truck is a 04 F250 CC.

RE: How do you wash your TV?

I have a 2004 F250 Crew Cab and I use the self serve bays at the local car wash..... Also when my FIL had his F350 Crew Cab Dually I would take it to the self serve bays it was a tight fit but enough room to wash it.Recently it was bought out and who ever owns it now has expanded one of the automatics to fit larger trucks although I'm not sure about duallies yet (it's still under construction) But it will be nice to be able drive thru once in awhile. I usally will hand wash at home but when my health declining I have to take it to the car wash and look forward to being able to drive thru. I like a clean vehicle and like to keep them as clean as I can so with the health issues coming it's harder for me but I'll keep doing as much as I can while I can.

RE: what is a...

I don't know about the newer trucks, but I am not aware of any truck equipped with a transmission temp gauge from the factory. My truck is a '96 Dodge, and I installed aftermarket gauges. My point is, without a gauge, how do you know if you do or do not need more cooling for the transmission? I have a temp gauge in the pan, and a second gauge after the fluid leaves the transmission. Very different temp readings. I have had this truck for about 11 years, with a 4000 pound TC. It does get hot in the summer, pulling long hills, but the factory cooling has done the job. Wayne My 2004 F250 CC V10 has a factory Tranny Temp Gauge.

RE: Tires

When I was shopping for tires for my truck the one of the tire shops had a really good deal on 4 tires and they included free nitrogen....Problem I had was it was an hour drive to the shop and the closest place to where I live was a 20 mile drive. It got me thinking in my travels I seldom have seen anyone have nitrogen available but I could find free air eveywhere. So although it was a good deal I passed. Just something to think about.
