RE: Ohio in August

I agree with Beemer, Can't go wrong in amish country...Let the kids experience the culture, it will be amazing to them..they have an actual farm you can tour..there is baylor beach in navarre, oh on the outskirts of Amish country, its a small cg, but a lake for swimming...Or if you like nice, evergreen is a nice one too...let the kids read up on the Amish before taking them so they can really get an idea of what they might experience..take the backroads, you are not going to see the real mccoys on 39...the amish schools are like walking back into little house on the prairie...if you catch it right you will see children actually WALKING home from school with their bookstraps and they are just to sweet....It just sounds like for that age group CP would be an expensive day for such little ones, its a park with mostly rollercoasters, I cant see kids that age getting that much use out of it just yet....JMO...

RE: Whip-poor-wills

Jackson County Fair Grounds out side of Ripley, WV has full hook ups and you can hear and see all kinds of birds. Mainly spring and summer.
Wow Past, I live about 30 miles from there...maybe thats where they all went!! we use to hear them in the evening...I miss it...

RE: No common respect in a campground anymore

Have found that here in Ohio also...SP's on the weekends/holidays are like a prison break...people come out of the woodwork and act like they have not a clue on how to live a civil life.... I am AMAZED at how camping etiquette has gone down hill..
I know this will sound biased..but this has just been our experiences..many of the guilty are tent campers...It would be nice if they would segregate them into their own area since most dont need a 40ft pad to park a tent anyway...If I had a tent, I would definitely not want to hear a/c's running and smell car fumes constantly, so it would be a win-win for all of us..
But like someone else mentioned in this thread...just a picture of our society as a whole..regardless of the camping method..
We love the SP's during the week although I know its not feasible for a lot of folks..
So, don't feel like you are alone in your thinking because you are not. Hopefully your experiences will be more on the enjoyable side from here on out.

RE: Calling West Virginia Residents

Ditto Doug and Cassi...Most WV'ers look forward to Sept/Oct..to escape the humidity...Has been known to stay pretty hot on occasion, but not normally, ...But usually the best part of the year around these parts..

RE: seven points campground

I noticed on reserve america it says not good for awnings because trees might limit space...Unless I am looking at the wrong site...which with me could be possible haha..
