RE: Rehobeth Beach, De to Myrtle Beach, Sc

Just before you get to Emporia there is an Exxon on the left named Unkle Odies. Most of the time they have decent diesel. The diesel pumps are separate and on the west side of the lot and very easy to access. South of Emporia on 95 but still in VA are 2 truck stops. The southern of the 2, I thinks it is named Love's also usually has good prices.

RE: Campgrounds near Raleigh, NC

Falls Lake is beautiful, and runs into Durham as well. That would be my bet if you can get in. Otherwise the Fairgrounds if you are just there to visit friends.

RE: Eastern Shore, VA restaurant suggestions

There are 2 decent places in Cape Charles. One is downtown in an old bank building, think it's called The Pub. Just past Watson's Hardware on the right. The other one is on the north side in the new golf course neighborhood. Right on the water. Little pricey. Wachapreague probably has the best one in the area, the chef fron the Eastville Inn is there now. Haven't been to the Eastville Inn since he moved on, but imagine that it is still very good. Bill's in Chincoteague, there are many others there as well. Not sure what is in Exmore since the Trawler closed but there has to be some, just not sure what. Have fun and enjoy your visit.

RE: Ford owns it's logo again!

What kind of junk would Japan, Korea, and Germany be building without the competition? Food for thought heh? Nobody in this global market spends a cent they don't have to in getting a product to market.

RE: Rehobeth Beach, De to Myrtle Beach, Sc

I might add that as you travel south from the CBBT after about the 6th light you HAVE to be in the second lane from the right as you approach I64 to be headed in the right direction on I64 once you take the exit. The left lane of the 2 exit lanes to 64 is where you need to be. Once on 64 if you are using a GPS ignore the routing to 264W, and stay on I64. 264 runs you thru Portsmouth and requires many lane changes your unit will not be happy with, and there is another tunnel. It is only about 10 more minutes to stay on 64 and is a much calmer ride.

RE: Cost of new Duramax

A trans is always cheaper than a truck, but in a business setting your 06 is long depreciated. Your accountant if you are not one can best answer this question. Admit it, you just want a new truck :).

RE: Huntington Beach (SC) State Park

Gunners Mom, that is our favorite place also. Remember the south campground? Back in June of '80 after a surprise letter from the IRS we could only afford to tent camp. Our oldest DD with a birthday in March still calls it Conception Point. It's a shame it's so far away for us now, but we get there occasionally. Have a great time.

RE: Maryland EZ-pass

If you translate the Latin on the MD state flag, it says "We will make nothing easy".

RE: Deep Creek Lake State Park

If you live in the eastern part of the state, I hope you have a good tow vehicle. We were shocked at the stress our then truck went thru getting up those hills. I can only imagine pulling out west with the wrong truck. The park and the area are beautiful, and worth the visit.

RE: For those who visit Ocean City Maryland

That is why there is Assateague. I chuckle everytime I see OC advertised as "A family resort". Not after 9PM it isn't. We are some of the locals that stay away during the season.

RE: conspicuity tape

That might be too much, but you can always take off what you don't like. Depending on your truck, it may trigger DOT attention as a commercial unit.

RE: Brake Inspection - Point of "No Return"

Good idea to inspect. I almost ran over a car last trip that slammed on brakes 50 feet from a quick yellow in heavy traffic. I pulled all 4 wheels the next week, and found one of the linings laying in the bottom of the drum on 2 of the wheels. The metal shoe was still where it was supposed to be, and my TPMS never showed high temps because the lining was just laying there not touching anything. I guess the adhesive they used wasn't up to the task. Local Napa store had the shoes, but Trailer Depot.com had the whole assembly for less. At my house in three days, and an hour to install.

RE: Funeral Edict?

I would have stopped or slowed on the shoulder, but thats just me. I am a little surprised that there was a big enough gap for the OP to move over, I almost wonder if someone familiar with the lane reduction didn't leave him room to come over. If I'm the one in the casket I certainly wouldn't mind. With over 300 million people in this great country now, we can't expect everyone to think like us.

RE: Teenager At Home and RVing

Every child is different of course, but I would vote no on the camping trip. Our girls were never any trouble that we found out about, but hormones are crazy at that age and I just feel that removing temptation is the better action. Lots of kooks out there, and it only takes one.

RE: Dreaded San Jose, CA Trip

Have you tried South West Air travel park? It has to be cheaper than driving 4000 miles. And that is if you live near Memphis. Maybe a sudden RV failure wink wink?

Apple accounts getting hacked

Just an FYI. Keep your eye on your credit card transactions daily if you are not already doing it. Over $200 was charged to my card originating from China. Apple corrected quickly, as they agreed my account did not place the orders. There is quite a lot of talk on the Apple forums about Apple pretending this doesn't happen, along with many experiences like mine. My card was NOT hacked, Apple was hacked. I now have my card company send me an immediated email if any international or non swiped transaction occurs. There was no other fraudulent activity on the card, only the 5 hits on the same day from China. If you are using a debit card for an Apple account, be aware it will take you much longer to get your money back. My personal opinion is that it was an Apple employee or group of same. Apple was VERY professional thru the process, and my card was credited within hours.

RE: Check Tire Pressure Before Every Trip

I don't know how many of us are NASCAR fans but if you want to see what a tire can do to your camper as it whips around, watch the damage to the 11 car of Denny Hamlin as the left rear tire destroys a good bit of the car at Talledega May 6th, 2012. My TPMS system may be the best thing I've ever bought for both the TT and the boat trailer.

RE: Guilford, Ct and Walmart layover

We may have slept(?) at 5 Wal*Marts in 10 years, good luck finding the manager. Just go the to customer service desk, they can speak for him/her. They were happy to have us.
