WILL COST OF FUEL DESTROY MOTOR HOME TRAVEL

What do you think? I just filled up. $3.39 per gallon. At what price will you stop? I think my point is the $4.00 or near that.

RE: With a 30 footer do I need to tow a car?

I went one trip to Kitty hawk with intent to rent a car. We did not tow our dolly. The car rental costs were astronomical %50 per day aint fun. I will never go without a toad again. We no longer have a dolly went to 4 down as my knees just don't want to do the bending needed to hook up a dolly.

RE: Route 66

How is the overheating of motor homes on the desert portions of this trip? To cool we need run our gen and house AC. I have heard horror stories in my youth of autos overheating terribly in the deserts.

RE: Accident far away from home

Accident far away from home Has anyone dealt with having their Motorhome rendered un-drivable after an accident that was 100% not their fault, far-away from home? I did and it was not anything I can say we were prepared for. Insurance companies and tow companies were of little help and we had to fend for ourselves. Does anyone understand his or her rights? I.E. trip interruption compensation, unbelievably feeling alone 700 + miles from home. P.S. we where legally parked in a rest area when the TT backed into us. Just wondering?, r0n…….:S. You have legal remedies. I would contact an attorney in the local area and request he intervene in attaining your transportation to home and appropriate housing until you have arrived home. The coach should be taken to a Truck/Motorhome repair facility and the losses would be covered by the at fault insured. If all else fails make your insurance company cough up the money under your non/under insured and or collision comprehensive coverage.

RE: Double guns

I've been looking in some shooting magazines. The guns I ideally would like to buy are in the 15,000 and up range most up and way up. It looks like the Berettas and Brownings from an Estate Sale were real bargains. The stocks were short though. One of the Magazines had a over under with it's name on it for thirty nine hundred, Sporting Classics I think. The engraving looked good from a magazine. The walnut looked great. Soooo I may have to shove a little more into the savings and one day the account and the price might meet. There are two or three stores, probably more, around Houston. I might get a look see. One thing I've found unless you're wearing an Armani they're cautious about you handling them. Dad gum young whiper snappers. Knew I was ugly but not...... Look at some Spanish made guns. They make very good shotgun and will custom build.

RE: Double guns

Find a dealer in London, England or some other UK dealer and buy a used PURDY, have them fit the stock to you. Bests hotgun made.

RE: A rant

I am so tired of pulling into a Flying J, Cracker Barrel, rest area, or other RV friendly establishment only to find the RV parking has cars parked in them. And its usually one car in each slot parked right in the middle so there's no way an RV can fit. I complained to the management in a Cracker Barrel once and they said they couldn't do anything about it. But if I parked my MH in a way that was taking up 6 car slots they would say something.:M Wow, if this were a concern enough for me to articulate my worries would pale. I have much more issue with gas at $3.50 per gallon when oil is $101 per barrel. That means I buy 28 gallon from a barrel of oil. One barrel of oil produces 42 gallon, I am getting hosed for 16 gallon of gas for each $101 I spend at a gas pump.

RE: States names

Alright. For you wise guys, how do you pronounce Mexia? Have a friend that says he was in Mexia. Went into a local DQ and asked where he was, thinking they would pronounce the town. Answer was: Da Rey Queen. What state is that?

RE: Help from anyone who can think like a thief

I am headed to New Orleans next week and will be boondocking not far from the Superdome. We will be using our EU2000i for three nights and will be there most of the time. They will have security but in N. O. that is often the ones you have to worry about. I have been trying to come up with a way to feel relatively secure leaving the Honda out and have read so many stories about how measures are thwarted by generator thieves. Looking for comments and ideas or support for this idea. Pictured is a 23/32" piece of plywood which I drilled out for the feet and replaced the 6 mm foot bolts with bolts all the way through the plywood, counter bored with fender washers. I plan to either park my fifth wheel with one wheel or one front jack on the plywood. If anyone can think of a flaw in this idea or a way to improve it please post. I don't think any thief will want to spend a lot of time trying getting it free. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g88/jmstock/2011-12-29_14-08-59_986.jpg height=460 Put it in the basement, the little time it takes and the few hours it isn't running will be negligible.
