RE: Installing Quickie Flush

I put mine opposite the drain opening so it would push everything towards the drain. This also placed it near the toilet. Mine was also very close to the frame and so close the Dewalt right angle drill would not reach. I used a long extension and a slight angle. (Don't let this keep you from getting the Dewalt though, it is very handy!)It was so close to the frame I needed a right angle adapter to get the tubing on. It is worth the effort - you will love the quickie!

RE: Opinions on Expedition

The problem with the Ram 1500 is the lucky to have 1200 pounds of payload in a crew cab. 800-1000 pounds of the tongue does not leave much capacity let for the people in the cab. Exactly what is the payload of the Expedition?? I would think it suffers from similar payload issues, but I honestly have no idea. However I would be interested to find out. Besides, with a trailer with a GVW of 5,000 lbs. I doubt he has 800 to 1,000 lbs. of tongue weight. My trailer only has about 600 lbs. of tongue weight. I was a bit concerned about the payload too. I think I have about 600# on the tongue, I really should weigh it someday but I know it is fairly light. Myself and DW add about 400#, our two teenage football players add another 400# and Conner the oversized mutt adds another 120#. If the Expy can't handle at least 1500# it won't work for us.

Opinions on Expedition

I am thinking of replacing my '04 3/4 ton Hemi Dodge 4 door pickup for a used Expedition and am looking for some feedback. Our old camper was about 7,000 pounds and had about 1,000 on the tongue but we have downsized to a 26' with a 5,000 gross with a lot less tongue weight so I really don't need the 3/4 ton anymore, plus I have an Equal-I-zer hitch to help out the Expy. I am thinking the Expedition will give us a nicer ride and be a bit more manuverable. I am looking for input - am I on the right track or should I hang onto the Dodge? Any problems with the Expedition to look out for? Years to avoid? One thing that drives me nuts with the Dodge is that tow/haul only locks out OD but it is constantly hunting between 3rd and 4th on the highway, does the 6 speed on the Ford do ok? DW wants to go to Colorado, does it have enough tug to handle the mountains? Thanks for any opinions.
