RE: Beds and Bedding

We use sleeping bags with removable liners that can be easily washed. We also use sheets and blankets over the sleeping bags in warmer weather. We store the bags in plastic containers in our barn when not in use.

RE: Thinking of buying an HTT - advice?

We also switched from PU to hybrid. We love having a shower and toilet, and a larger frig and stove. We chose the hybrid because we got more space with a smaller, easier to tow trailer.

RE: Show your mods!!

We needed more storage space so I installed a cabinet where the TV used to set and put a wall mount on the side for the new flat screen.

RE: LED vs. Plasma

Just replaced my old projection LCD with 46inch plasma after a lot of research and waffling back and forth. My second choice was 120HZ LED, but went with plasma based on consumer reviews, cost and options (Internet connectivity, camera card slot, number of connections). I like to watch football and plasma has better refresh rates but new LCDs are getting better.

RE: Headphones for traveling?

If you can't afford the noise cancelling headphones, try Sony MDR-W08L lightweight headsets that fit inside the ear, as low as $7-$8. I use them at work in a noisy plant and they are more comfortable than regular headphones for me.

RE: comcast norton suite causes win7 64bit to freeze

Were you running AVG and Norton? Never run two antivirus programs at the same time, that almost always causes problems. I was IT manager for 15 yrs and I do not like Norton products, I would stay with the AVG.

RE: Buying 2008 Starcraft Antigua - Anything I should know ?

We swapped our Coleman Bayside pup for 21'SB Antigua almost two years ago before going to Alaska and love it. Big pros: easier setup, Bathroom w/shower, full size frig, larger stove and microwave. Cons: reduced gas mileage (about 3 mpg). Only problems so far, minor leaks when towing in heavy rain around A/C and front bed. Also, broke a couple of the plastic buttons that the tent bungee cords hook around by dropping the bed platform on the support bars under rear bed. Corrected this by watching the position of the support bars when lowering the bed and replacing the broken connectors with metal ones. Don't miss the PUP at all.

Battery Cutoff Problem

I have TT with 12v deep cycle battery. I installed a battery cutoff switch last year which I turn off when not in use. It worked fine for a year. When I started on last trip and turned on the switch I had no 12v power unless shore power was connected or Tow Vehicle was running and connected. Thinking the battery was dead I connected it to a charger but found it was fully charged. I disconnected the leads from the switch and ran ohms test with multimeter which indicated that the switch was working OK. When I connected the wires directly to the battery, bypassing the switch, everything worked. I cleaned all the connections and terminals and reconnected the switch, but still nothing worked with switch connected. I disconnected one lead from the switch and connected my voltmeter between the lead and the switch and it showed 12v whenever I activated the switch but still nothing in the trailer worked. I am going to replace the switch unless someone can tell me something else to try?? Any ideas?
