RE: Copper Center Lodge Destroyed by fire

We stopped there many times for the sourdough pancakes. It is sad!

RE: Laptop or iPad?

I didn't interpret the OP as only one or the other but rather whether to use laptop or IPad when traveling. The only thing we can't do on our IPad when we travel is transferring our digital pictures from the camera to computer thus freeing up space on the camera card. We just carry more camera memory. So for traveling we only carry our IPads and IPhones now.

Oops, the 7 years and 65,000 miles was in a mid-range sprinter B.

RE: Rate Your Sprinter-based Rig!

I haven't really said much about our 2012 LTV Serenity, prefer leaving "sales pitches" to sales folks and RV decisions to those paying. However we selected the Serenity after looking at a variety of sprinter based Cs. Watched the market for years wondering if anyone would make a lower profile coach to match the Serenity, some are close but no one under 10 ' but the Serenity. Because the Serenity is hard to find we only had a chance to go through one this February. After spending 7 years driving 65,000 miles , across the country(including major cities) we had a good idea what were our future needs. After spending 4 hours thoroughly going through the Serenity it was an easy decision between it and other sprinter Cs. We don't need slides, we don't travel with our Grandkids or other family members, we like the handling characteristics, and when we examined the interior construction we were sold(but not at that time nor with the dealer where we were). It's prewired for solar and satellite, the cabinets and utilization of space is superb, is has little things you don't think about like a valve and tube on the water system which allows you to winterized the water system with little effort. The unit we bought didn't have a mascerator(option) so when we decided to add one exactly like the option, I called the factory, they told me it was prewired, sent me pictures of the installation and offered to "walk me through the installation". Yes it is expensive but we consider it well worth it.

RE: Rate Your Sprinter-based Rig!

The one item missing that really needs to be examined on a sprinter class C is the CCC. Slides and storage are nice but with 11030 gvw you need to be careful!

RE: Rate Your Sprinter-based Rig!

Not that much, I think you will work hard to get 20% off MSRP. I don't have the MSRP for the 2007 but remember seeing in the past MSRPs with dealer options close to 150,000.00 and now they run about 134-135,000. Have no idea about the Triple E line(Unity). Probably need to look at later pricing data but only meaningful data will be when you start negotiating!

RE: Rate Your Sprinter-based Rig!

We purchases a 2012 LTV sprinter in February but have watched its continued refinement since it was first introduced. We replaced our 7 year old sprinter B and hated to give up the 25 mpg but are pleased with the quality of our new C. Besides the quality, the extra space, the performance on the road, we are very impressed with the responsiveness of both the dealer and the factory to questions and minor issues. Since this is not our only way of traveling, and only the two of us use it, it is the perfect size. We spent at least 6 months deciding what to buy to replace our B. we came down to two choices, a 24 foot sprinter van modified by Sportsmobile and the Serenity II. It was a tough choice.

RE: Sprinter Class B Motorhomes

Topless, I too got one early in 2005, put 65000 miles on it , remember all the discussions but loved it anyway. How come you can't use it enough to keep it?

RE: Sprinter Class B Motorhomes

Of all the discussions about the sprinters on various forums haven't seen much of anything about engine failures, the "new" V-6 that came out in 2010 with the "blutech" emission is the same as the earlier V-6 but without earlier emission system which caused the earlier version to be downgraded in HP from the 188 of its European version to 154 which happened to be the same as the I-5. With the newer emission system the HP was rated at 188 and supposedly has a small increase in MPG. Mercedes has been producing and using diesels a long time world-wide the engine may not be the first thing to fail!

RE: Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay

Hi, thanks for comments. Have gone a number of times through Sumas(also Whistler) so the Port Hardy route is for the "journey more than the destination". Have gone from Port Angeles as well, it is also a nice trip. Avoiding Vancouver traffic is a plus. As far as Anacortes is it easier going through the Border at Blaine(I-5) or in Sydney?

Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay

Just made our reservations on Bc Ferries from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert(going up the Cassier). Coming North from Oregon through Seattle(Mariner games) and trying to decide which ferry to use to get to Vancouver Island. Any suggestions?

RE: 2011 Navion Rear (inner) Dual tire pressure

Replaced my rubber valve stems with metal including a longer one for inside duals. I know of no legal or warranty issues with changing the valve stems.
