If you look at the pictures on the website, it has an electric stove. How does that work o such a small unit?

RE: Electric water heater element??

My 2010 Cyclone 3010 has two switchs for the Electric hot water heater. The first inside, looks like a normal wall switch and yes it lights up. The second is a toggle switch with a pin to hold it in the OFF position in the water heater outside compartment. BOTH have to be ON with 110 V hook ups for it to work. I had a dealer in Alaska show me this works because I could not get it to work, and it is not in any the books. Once turned on it works good. And, Yes it is very easy to fry the element, must have water at all times or it is gone in seconds.

RE: I broke all 8 studs clean off

Thank you all for your input. Still not sure what the real issue was, but I do plan on some changes. I think a new torque wrench and continued checking of lugs and air pressure as before. As for spares, I always have two spare tires, just did not help this time. Not sure how I would have fixed the trailer on the side of the road on Sunday afternoon. Towing from AAA was free, part of our insurance package, so I did pay something. Trailer was half full of water and only our RZR in the back, so NO I do not think I was overloaded. How do you move a 5th wheel up a trailer without the truck, still is puzzling to me?
Driving up this trailer is harder than it looks. You have no extra room side to side for error.

Again, thanks for you input and we will see you on the road.

RE: I broke all 8 studs clean off

No the wheel drum was not seize, still would spin. Lugs were tighten by me with a torque wrench, same as the other three. I am thinking factory defect, but could never prove it.

I broke all 8 studs clean off

On our way home from a Ocotillo trip, I managed to shear off all 8 studs on the Cyclone. I was Hwy 76 west bound just before Hwy 15 maybe going 35 mph. The tire flies off goes up the embankment and then cross 4 lanes of Sunday afternoon traffic, missed everything and everybody. This is our 5th toy hauler and had a motorhome, never, ever seen this.

No studs at all.

side view on the tow trailer, not happy wife in background. Notice 102 inch wide Toyhauler on a 102 inch wide flatbed. Just fit !!!!
So a little history on this wheel drum and studs. I purchased this trailer, did 5 or 6 desert trips with it, no big deal. Then retired and took it to Alaska and back. When I got home I notice two lug bolts where very hard to remove, so I replace the whole drum and studs from the Dexter service center in Escondido. That is the one the broke, the other 3 with Alaska Miles on them are fine. So I take it back to the same place and get the same sales guy. His hand written part number on the drum and he knew it. Got a new one and put it on, sales guys said he would send it back to the factory, but not to hold my breath. Dexter does not seem to care after the sale.
So I guess the point here is now what? I feel a little gun shy about this now, as I did not feel the wheel break, just noticed the smoke. I did find the tire and it seems fine.

My rig on our tow trailer. As we a driving home in the semi-tow rig. I asked the driver how high is the bed of his trailer is, answer 3 feet. My Cyclone is 12'8", so we are now 15'8" traveling down hwy 15 south and then Hwy 78 west. The over pass at Nordahl is 15'3" clearance, yes we stopped and checked, not going to make it. We are stopped in the slow lane just under the bridge. I could not believe it, but he back it up to the off ramp and we made it home.

RE: My First TH RV - Price Help

I got 41% off MSRP my 2010 Cyclone 3010. I ordered it wholesale with the options I wanted, not what the dealer had. They delivered it to the house in perfect condition. Do you homework it is worth the money.

RE: Gmc2500 diesel crew cab short bed pull a cyclone 3010?

We tow our Cyclone 3010 with a 2008 Silverado 2500 Extra cab short bed with a Duramax. Standard hitch, not-slider, air-bags and a set of new Michelin's on it. This combination works well, I have at least 20K towing miles including our Alaska trip. We usually have our Polaris RZR in the back, which keeps the tongue weight about perfect. You should check out purchasing your Cyclone wholesale as we did, the savings were very good. Yes, my local dealer services my coach just fine, if the don't Heartland will call them. Get the options you want, not what the dealer has in stock. Get a quote in writing and your local dealer can't touch it.

They have posted this on their web site, I think it is so funny.
Heartland RV, per a letter dated January 15, 2008, has requested that we not publish our best prices on the internet. Due to our high volume of sales, other dealers across the country have gotten upset over our direct wholesale pricing. Please submit your quote or call today for the best direct wholesale pricing in the country!

RE: Short bed guys (people), which slider do you like/use?

I have a SB Chevy 2500 and Heartland Cyclone. I have a standard hitch and more than 20K miles on the trailer. Most of it to Alaska and back from San Diego. No slider ever needed. Check out this video on the 88 degree turning radius, IT WORKS!!!

RE: Heartland or Forest River?

We have a 2010 Heartland Cyclone 3010 model trailer and a very happy with it. We took it to Alaska last summer and it did very well. We ordered wholesale from http://www.rvcapitalwholesalers.com/ . This was the easiest and cheapest way to purchase the trailer. Far less money than show price or the dealer would come close too. You get exactly what you want and not what the dealer has on the lot. Yes, my local dealer services my trailer without issue. good luck with your search.

RE: In the market for new hauler

We have a Cyclone 3010 unit which we ordered from the factory the way we wanted it. You will NEVER find a unit on a lot without a Graphics package. It is free advertising for the manufacture, actually they charge for graphics advertising packages. This unit went to Alaska and back last year with no major issues. It has many of the features that you want, but not all.
It you decide on a Cyclone, you have got to contact http://www.rvcapitalwholesalers.com
and get a wholesale quote with the options you want, not what the dealer wants. Our 2010 unit was under $39.K delivered to our home in Oceanside, CA. Oh, if you delete the Graphics package, you save $200. bucks. They won't FADE, PEAL, or CRACK because they are not there.
Picture of our rig on its way to Alaska. http://web.me.com/ajsugar/Site/Marysvale,_UT.html#0
Good luck on your search.
