RE: New TV - Hooray

You won't miss the Colorado after you drive the Ram for a couple of hrs. I don't miss my Silvarado one bit. Enjoy your Ram. I know I do.

RE: Installing a hitch on 2009 Jayfeather 23B

If you do it right you will have no problem. My trailer has had on it since 2001. The previous owner had it put on. I carry two full size mountain bikes on mine. It traveled many miles without incident.

RE: 2001 Kiwi 23B Slide

My 2001 doesn't have a crank or electric motor. You just push it out and lock it in place. It pushes really easy.

RE: PRESSURE TEST FOR LEAKS?

I have a blower from a bounce house i think would work well. That is a great way to do it.

RE: Are any of you North Texans going camping this weekend?

We will be on Lake Texhoma. We have reservations at Eisenhower State Park, but hope to find a spot at East Burns Run. It sure is going to suck not being able to build a fire. (Fire ban) Maybe we will see some of you there. Is the Blue/Green Algae still an issue at Texhoma? I agree with you about East Burns Runs...much better sites on the water October 13th we are going to Beavers Bend, OK (they also have a burn ban) :-( Yes the algae is still there.. Our favorite campground is West Burns Run in D section.

RE: Bedding

Fitted sheets and a memory foam topper for us. Ditto! though i'd be happy with just a sleeping bag.:( can't convince the DW that it would be less work. I hear you. When we had the popup sleeping bags were just fine. Now she has to have sheets. Lots of extra work.

RE: Jayco x20e - don't like the 13" tires - anyone put 14's on?

The Jayco 18D did not fit. It didn't clear the breakover between the street and my driveway. The back end cleared by less than an inch, spare tire carrier and tongue jack drug something fierce. Would have to remove the spare tire carrier completely and remove the tongue jack to get it out of the driveway more than likely (It may clear if I were to saw off about 3 inches. This was unloaded too, so loaded it may be worse. And the x20 is 2 feet longer but the same distance off the ground, so that won't work. Back to the drawing board.....:S Greg any good weld shop can weld you in a piece of 3 inch channel to raise it. Thats what the factory lift kit is. The system I built would be to costly to build to sell. It involves a lot of machine shop work and about a full day to install, lots of 1/2 dia. holes to drill laying on your back. I am a machinist and had access to the machines to do the work myself. My 3 inch lift

RE: Leveling question

I just built a set and it cost me around 100.00 and I already had the 1 inch aluminum strips. I haven't had a chance to use them yet. I hope I never do,but I have them just in case.

RE: Jayco x20e - don't like the 13" tires - anyone put 14's on?

Adding a half inch of height is not likely to make any appreciable difference in ground clearance. A machine shop should be able to put taller suspension parts (the blocks that the suspension is held by but I don't know the name on a torsion system like ours). It simply pushes the axles a little further away from the bottom of the trailer. Click the link(3 inch lift) to see what I had to do to get mine in my drive.

RE: Hybrid towed by 2007 Dodge Durango

I have the 4.7 in my Grand Cherokee. I think the 4.7 will struggle pulling anything heavier than 4,000 lbs or so. That would be the weight before cargo. Agree, I had a 4.7 in my 04 Ram, and it would heat up towing our 4800 lbs hybrid and really struggled. I towed the same trailer with my 10 Hemi Ram and the difference was night and day, and my Ram only has 3:55. The 04 Ram had 3:92 and still sucked with the 4.7. Your Ram is the spitting image of mine. I love it.

RE: Awning Legs

If you plan on staying where you are for more than a night you could put them down, that's what I have always done. I use a level to make sure they a pefectly level then I use a corkscrew style anchor that can be found at any dollar store I attach a ratchet strap to the anchor and the awning. I tighten it up and really you are good to go. With the legs detached from the trailer I found I had less worries of running into the awning. It's really personal preference. This has worked well for me.

RE: Savages stole my battery, clipped wires

I think you could have a length of heavy duty chain cut to fit.

RE: Changing a tire

Home made level air bags work great, just put under the good tire and it will lift the other with no problems. By the way Thanks for the help.
