ONLINE PARTS COMPANY INFO

:@ Mr. Mod. I hope this is the right section to post this in. A little help please. Has anyone on here had any dealings or done business with Rock Auto Auto parts in Madison Wisconsin? They have some pretty good prices on some items I need from time to time, even with shipping. I try to do some research on a company I am going to have to give a credit card number to. Thanks in advance. :@

RE: Magic Jack Plus

I love it. Had it about 3 weeks now. Works great. I also have had the other MJ for 2 years with no issues. Bet my home phone is going to be cut off. That shows you how bad AT&T is taking everybody. Get you one.:B

RE: I joined a cult - the Mac computer owners cult

I'm completely new to the Mac OS. Starting to miss my Windows already but I know theres a learning curve here. I have much of the OS figured out but, every time I move a file from an external drive to the Mac, it creates an icon on the desktop. I can't figure out how to prevent that from happening. If I move the icon to trash, the file also goes to trash. I'm going to have a desktop filled with icons in just a couple days. :B You will love it. They simply work. Go a bookstore and get MacOS X LEOPARD For DUMMIES by Bob "Dr, Mac" LeVitus. It will tell you all you need to know. When you learn something you will see how easy it is. I will never go back to a pc. Good Luck.:B

RE: OS X Lion

:BIn my opinion Apple makes the best. However I will wait at least 6 months to upgrade and let them get the bugs out. I went to Snow Leopard last year and could not tell any difference with it. It is going to be good but I am in no hurry. :B

RE: Windows 7??

I finally got tired of everything you all are discussing about. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro laptop . Yes they do cost a little more money , but well worth not having to put up with the hassle of a PC....For your information , a P.C. is on the way out of being extinct, may be in a couple of years. This is what the Wall Street Journal has said. :BThree years ago Windows Vista drove me to a Mac. I will never go back. When you figue a laptop pc of any power (so to speak) cost 6 to 7 hundred dollars + tax + anti virus = plus all the other stuff you can get a MacBook 3 GB +250 GB for $1000.00 + tax and forget it. My MacBook is 1 Gb + 120 Gb memory and it is faster than any pc I have ever had and it WORKS. Love Yall:B Since the 80's I've used Win3.11 -> Win98 -> Win XP and this last laptop I bought Win 7 was the OP at the time and by doing my research I read that XP programs may or may not run and over the years I have invested a LOT of money (almost $800 in two different OBDII scanner/data logging systems) of various H/W and S/W so I made sure I got Win 7 Professional and am running it in 64 bit mode. I downloaded the free XP virtual machine option and all my old stuff installed and works great except for the external SB I got, but that was no big loss. My system is faster than I can type and have no speed issues so I'm still a happy camper. For browsers I'm using Firefox. Larry ;)Windows XP Virtual Machine will not work on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. You have to have Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit then you have to buy Windows XP professional for $200.00. ;) That was exactly my point that the run of the mill Win7 HE can't be ugraded and eve the Premium costs to upgrade. I bought my current Toshiba A505-S6025 last year at best buy and the installed OP was Win 7 Professional. The point I was making that getting the off the shelf Win 7 HE or even the Win 7 HP won't allow you the free XP virtual machine upgrade. It has to be Win 7 Ultimate or Win 7 Professional. I think I paid around $600 for my A505-S6025 Toshiba laptop back in May 2010. Larry You are correct. I was not debating what you have. I was talking about price. You bought a pc for $600.00 + XP profession+tax+ Virus protection ( guessing around $900.00 ) The Mac Is still around $1000.00 +tax. A pc that is faster than a Mac does not exist.
