RE: Sliding hitch

Our manual says 1. Stop, put truck in park and set parking brake 2. Lower front landing gear of camper to take some load off the hitch 3. Block the trailer wheels 4. Pull the hitch lever to middle position 5. Lock camper brakes with brake controller 6. Pull forward slowly with truck until hitch moves from travel to rear postion. Ensure lever is i rear position. 7.Stop, put truck in park and set parking brake 8. Lift landing gear, pull blocks and away you go What we do Stop, put in park, throw hitch lever to middle, lock trailer brakes with brake controller, pull forward slightly until hitch locks in rear position. Have not had any problems yet. As far as driving any distance with the hitch in the rear position: I would not recommend it. It puts a lot of weight behind your rear axle, much more than if you were pulling a travel trailer. Could ecome much more unstable and sway.

RE: Garmin Nuvi 1490 truck routing ?

When I e-mailed Garmin about this about a year ago the response was "We removed that feature because it was confusing to most of the customers". I responded that I used it all the time and would like to have it back. The response was Thank You. Hopefully enough RVers have given their input and we will get some RV friendly GPS units soon.

Superglide: Change old kingpin to new camper?

We're looking to sell our current camper, which has the superglide universal catchplate welded to it. Wondering what would be the better option: 1) Get a new catchplate for the new camper, and cut off the universal catch plate on the old camper so it's back to original state. OR 2) IF we can, should we just take the old kingpin off the old camper and switch it out with the new one? Has anyone done this? the two campers both have Lippert kingpins, just not sure of the models yet. Any ideas?
