RE: Summer heat can be deadly without our being aware.
I'm a volunteer fireman. For cooling off over-heated firemen the best method is to submerge their hands and forearms in cool (NOT cold) water. I imagine it would work for dogs too. I know mine sure like to step in their tub when they are hot.
That's a good way to cool off horses. Just spray their feet and lower legs after a workout!

There are reports (local papers) of renters with pit bulls and pit bull mixes being pressured by their landlords to remove their dogs or leave the premises and owners who rent have already started relinquishing their dogs.

Good, you need to start somewhere!
I don't know of a yellow lab being blamed for ripping some 2 yr olds face off.....pitbull not so.
The woman that had the first face transplant, was bitten by a Lab.
I own 5 dogs, and none have ever bitten, that said, I trust my pitbull more than my Chihuahua.

Ok, maybe it's me! I know what Im looking for, and have seen it on this forum a few times, but I can't find it now. We want to replace the screen on the front of the rv door with plastic, acrylic, anything that will keep the dogs in, and the bugs out. It's been a while, but I saw very detailed instructions on how to do it on this site, and would love to see it again..Please Help, thanks...
I found the word i was looking for Plexiglas...Duh, so now I should be able to locate the forum I need..Sorry!
Some people use LEXAN instead of Plexi. You might want to try that, too.
Thank you..Think we will use lexan instead. I found the link that had step by step details, so we're going to try it!

Good to hear that you guys are ok! You were in my old stomping grounds. Grew up in Louisville, and have family in Shepherdsville. Glad you didn't have to break up a dog fight in the middle of a weather emergency! I have a flexi lead, but can't stand it.

Some years ago my brothers family had a dog called Bendy, when he died his kids, aged about 5 and 7 were understandably upset and wanted a proper funeral for him, so they buried him in the yard in a very solemn ceremony
A couple of days later my SIL came out to find the youngest in the process of digging up the spot where the dog was buried, she asked why he was doing that and he replied that he wanted to check whether Bendy was still there or if he had gone to heaven yet
:)
That's so Sweet, it deserves the tears that just passed.
