RE: Can anyone recommend a dome tent for Scout troops?

Go to http://www.scoutdirect.com/ and register. They sell http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/ at a very good price to scout troops. We bought 6 http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/alps/products/tents/outfitter-tents/taurus-outfitter tents for a good price. The outfitter tents are heavy duty and will hold up to more abuse.

RE: Equalizer Questions

"1) Where have you found the least expensive place to purchase online? Right now the cheapest I can find is at adventurerv.net- is this a well known company?"
I bought things from sewer hoses to an awning from them, and will continue to do so! I've never had a problem with their sales or support departments. They're a great company with good prices.

RE: Need New battery and shut off

I just changed my group 24 to a group 31. As far as I can tell a group 31 is the biggest deep cycle you can get. Of course I had to change the battery box because the original was too small.

RE: An unscrupulous dealer strikes again.

Ford doesn't help any with the fictitious 11,200lb tow rating.
It's not "fictitious", it's FORD !!!!!!!! Given the way the truck market works, in a few years GM and Chrysler will improve their trucks so they can do the same!!!!
Then why don't you run out and buy one and get an 11K fiver to pull?
Because I already own a Ford that tows the trailer I have just fine and I don't want an 11K fiver. If I did have on I'd own an F350 over any other truck on the market.

RE: Firewood

question guys..... How about the bundled and packaged wood that Home Depot and many food stores sell. How do we have any idea where that wood originated from?
I beleive that wood is local to each store.
Not true! The fire wood I purchase in Virginia was from, of all states, NEW YORK!

They're the bunk latches. Most people replace the old screw type with the leaver type. hers a link to a thread about switching them.

RE: What's your opinion?

We have stayed in FHU sites a few times. We wait to hook up our sewer until we need to dump - at least three days after we arrive. We won't dump the black tank until it's full or we are leaving, and we don't dump the gray tank without dumping the black tank first. It may look as if we don't use the FHU but we just don't see a need to hook up to it immediately.
That's what we do, too.
That's what we do too!!!!!

RE: transmission parking pawl return spring

If the first Dealer's RO states they replaced the extension housing gasket then they are at fault. The parking assembly is inside the extension housing and the is serviced by removing the housing. There is no other way to remove the spring. I'd contact Ford if the first dealer was one.

RE: Rhino Flex hose storage - ideas?

Bought a Rhino Flex swivel sewer hose kit this past year. I currently just curl it up in a 5 gallon bucket for storage. I'd like to store it in my bumper like I did with the cheap sewer hose I had before, but the Rhino Flex is too large. It states on the box it can be stored in a 4" bumper. With the ends attached, it cannot be stored in the bumper.
For those who have this sewer hose and have designed a way to store this with the ends on, please post your ideas for consideration. Feel free to share pictures as well.
Thanks in advance.
I had the same problem with the hose not fitting in the bumper. A length of 5" square pvc fence post mounted under the trailer fixed the storage situation.

RE: dealer jumped on me for eterna-bonding roof seams

I think those that use the tape, really never sealed their roofs in the first place prior with Dicor. If they had they would understand what a non-issue it is. More then likely they had a leak at one time and jumped right into the tape method.
Actually those of us who use "the tape" are looking for a more permanent "fix" than dicor! When my trailer was 13 months old it had a leak. The dealer told me I was out of warranty and could fix it myself or pay him to do it. I re dicored the seam and taped it for extra measure, it never leaked again. I also did a re dicor on all the other sealed joints as maintenance. A little over a year later I had another leak, this time around the skylight. I re dicored again and this time I taped, Leak fixed again. Dicor seems to last about a year or so, "The Tape" will last as long as the roof!
2x
I use Eternabond rather than Dicor to reduce the odds of delamination of the side walls or it getting worse use to water getting in at the rain gutter/rubber connection.
Why use an inferior solution to fix/prevent a known problem with any MH roof over time?
Some also like to build brick outhouses. Others think it's best to build a wood one over a large hole, and then build another wood one when it comes time too. Year after year after year!
Most rubber roofs I've seen have the sides rolled over so you lost me on that part.
Only reason Dicor can fail is users who allow it to show cracks which water can then penetrate lifting it off the rubber. Arn't the cracks in dicor the sealant failing? All it takes is a skim coat of new Dicor to cover up those cracks (prior to the lifting.)That's what I did the first time, that gave me a year! Like I said I was up on my roof two days ago. As far as I could see from up there not one other MH, 5'ver, TT had tape showing. The biggest users of tape I think are those that are on RV.Net Not one of the RV shops that come to these parks that I know will use tape when they are asked to reseal a roof.
On Edit:
BTW, some skylight makers say not to use Dicor because it will make the skylight brittle and crack. They use SitkaFlex instead. Mixing two caulks may have been the issue with the leak reappearing.Maybe, the sealant looked like all the other goo (dicor) the manufacturer used
Really, Dicor will only last a year...The manufacturers think even less. They suggest inspecting your sealant twice a year. Get real, so every new RV owner is going to have issues 13 months after purchase . They want people to inspect the roof once a year for any issues that may have developed not redo. I'll also add that the original dicor failed and leaked less than two months after being inspected by the dealer. The installed "tape" has yet to show any signs of any failure!

RE: Prodigy 2

I second not using the "boost". I tow a hybrid trailer with a 05 F150 using a P2, with the boost on 1 I feel a jerk from the trailer on initial braking. With it off brakes are smooth.
