RE: New 2012 F-350 with 5th Wheel Prep Package

Yeah, I know their had to be something out on the market that would give you the option to use you own 5th wheel hitch/slider. I researched long and hard to find this adaptor that would work.
Thanks Guys! I have heard nothing but great things about this truck. I can't wait to put my Voltage 3200 13,000 lbs.(LOADED) toy hauler with golf cart in the back of it and see what difference it makes in power compared to my 6.0L F-250. I've heard it pulls like a beast! :B

New 2012 F-350 with 5th Wheel Prep Package

Hello everyone I just ordered a new 2012 F-350 6.7 with 5th Wheel Prep Package so excited. Traded my 2007 F-250 6.0 with only 16,900 miles on it. I know still new, but wanted the added power and suspension of the F-350. I was wondering if any of you that has this option used your existing 5th wheel hitch and how you made it work? I found an option to use with my PullRite 2700 Slider that uses standard bed rails and much cheaper than the Elite Reese hitch as long as it measure's from side to side distance on center between the mounting feet is 20-5/8 inches or 29 inches AND the front to back distance is 21-13/16 inches on center. Or did you buy the Elite Reese 5th Wheel Hitch made to fit in the bed holes. Just wondering what others have done.
Here's the link. http://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Reese/RP30156.html.

RE: New Camper Shed/Barn

I have something similar planned-- a 3-stall garage/barn with the center stall used for TH parking. What are the overall dimensions?
I have a 5 on 12' pitch on the middle roof with 32' trusses with 16" overhangs and a 2 on 12' pitch for the side shelters. It is 64' wide and 48' deep. The center height is a little over 16' and the side shelters height are around 12' that is measuring from the ground beside the outside shelter post to the bottom of the rafter. I was going to have to park my TH in the middle, but we were able to get enough height on that right shelter to park it under that side which is where I wanted to put it anyway. We just wasn't sure if we were going to be able to do that or not. The specs on the center height of our Voltage 3200 is 13'4. But measuring it on level ground and TH level it measures 13' even. So with the measurements we have so far I'll have plenty of height to play with. I also have a little over 14' 5" on the inside of the left post from the ground to the bottom of the rafter. I can even take a little more dirt out if need be. But really don't think it will be necessary. I want to build the hay loft in the back 16' of the middle section and close in the left back 2 bays to park a couple older garden tractors I have. Then I have some other farm equipment that will be going under it and a couple trailers. So that's why I really wanted to park the TH in the right side shelter. A man can never get enough building space. Mine's already full and haven't even got anything under it yet. LOL!

RE: New Camper Shed/Barn

What did you treat the timbers, the vertical posts, with to prevent rot and bug/termite damage. I am preparing the site for my shed. It will be a 14x36 with metal trusses. Won't have the side wings although I may be able to add one later. Looks real good. By crusher in the floor, are you talking about residue from concrete trucks?
Nice job.
I used treated 6x6's for the vertical post, but have not put any chemicals to prevent bug/termite damage on any of the trusses or 2x6 rafters yet. I probably will put something on them since most of the lumber I used was sawmill cut. The crusher run is a gravel that is not washed and has some grit/dirt in it. It makes a great base. It makes it easy to pack on a driveway that has never had any gravel on it before. Then later you can get washed gravel to put on the crusher run gravel. So in my situation I need a lot of crusher run. LOL Anyone else has any questions about the shed please feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer them.

RE: New Camper Shed/Barn

Looks Top notch you musta spent a lot of time with a level and plumb bob
LOL Thanks! The guys who I had build it for me did have to true up some of the rafters a little since I used all saw mill lumber. I want to build a hay loft in the back of the middle section and then under the left shelter where the walls are framed up. I'm going to enclose that with either garage doors or a sliding door and put a couple old garden tractors in there. I still have a little more grading to do, but I'm getting closer. I will be soooo happy when I get this finished and let me tell you my wife will to. lol

New Camper Shed/Barn

I have almost completed my new Camper Shed/Barn. I worked on the dirt pad for almost 3 years trying to build it up with my tractor that has a front end loader on it and a box scrape. I just took my time and got pad packed down and leveled up good. I had my dad saw the logs for me at his saw mill when we cleared the trees out where we built our house. So the only bought lumber I used is the 32' trusses, posts and some treated lumber that is covering the ends of the 2 x 6's so the rain won't rot them. The next step is having many loads of crusher run hauled to go under it and around it. Then finish putting in the windows and metal down the right wall that is built to help protect our Toy Hauler going in it. I want post some pics, but not sure how.
Side shelters went up first to make it easier to set the trusses.

http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/SouthernCamper74/CamperShed3.jpg width=640
Then the trusses went on.
http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/SouthernCamper74/CamperShed4.jpg width=640
Then the metal went on.
http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/SouthernCamper74/BeachFeb2012andNewShed192.jpg width=640
Walls were built for the metal and windows to protect camper.

http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/SouthernCamper74/BeachFeb2012andNewShed198.jpg width=640
Toy Hauler going under this shelter.
http://i1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii607/SouthernCamper74/BeachFeb2012andNewShed197.jpg width=640
Now all I need is Lots and Lots for crusher run gravel hauled in. So eager to get it completed and camper under it.

RE: buy new rv out of state

... feedback about doing business with an out of state dealer (was the unit as ordered, was the price still the same, was the unit inspected and preped as it would be for a local delivery, etc.).
We had a contract in hand prior to driving out and the price and features were 100% per the contract. The unit was cleaned and prepped for us and we spent 2 hours doing our own inspection. The second time we did this we also camped one night a few miles away. During that night a minor plumbing leak developed and the dealership repaired it for us on the spot before we left for home.
Here's my concern: what if said leak was not noticed and/or developed until AFTER you left? What then?
I live in NC and went to Holman RV in Ohio to buy our new Voltage. Because of the saving was about 10K. The deal was in writing and all was good. Found on a couple of minor things they had to fix before our trip back home. After a month sitting with the slides open in my driveway. I noticed a leak on the main slide. Called them and they sent me a list of dealers to contact to fix the leak. I choose Camper's Inn in Mocksville, NC. I haven't gotten it back yet due to waiting on the main window that was leaking to come in. But they also fixed a light that we didn't noticed that wasn't working till we got home and they found another issue and fixed it while it was there that I never saw. Thumbs up to them. So to answer you question "What then?". A local authorized dealer can fix the problems that arise within your warranty period at no cost to you. Cause I sure wasn't going back to Ohio.

RE: UTV's in a Garaged Toyhauler

I was going to buy a Keystone Fuzion, but my Rhino would not fit due to height. So I bought the early 2012 Voltage 3200 so Rhino would fit. The later 2012 are 4" shorter due to some changes Dutchman made. As far as length it will fit, but not by much only have about 4 to 5 inches to spare. The 3200 only has the 10' garage. So like someone said measure 2 twice to be sure it will fit.

2012 Voltage 3200 Sleeper Sofa

Hey I have mentioned this before, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this. I took the measurement today for a new sofa for our 2012 Voltage 3200 today. I was wondering if anyone has tried to put sleeper sofa in this space. I took measurements and I have approximate 107" for a sleeper to be folded out in. This is from the wall, with slide out, to kitchen cabinet. I really don't know how far a sleeper sofa folds out to. Anyone tried this or should I just go with a reclining sofa. I want so bad to ditch the stock couch. It is so uncomfortable! Really the only bad thing we have found with this RV so far. Let me know your thoughts.

Took measurements for a new sofa for our new 2012 Voltage 3200. Emailed our local furniture store with the numbers for a Black Leather Sofa. Ready to ditch the stock one.

RE: Dutchmen Voltage Anyone have one?

We bought a regular sofa from a furniture store. Took measurements of the space and measured the sofa. Will fit fine. There are a number of people here that have replaced the sofa ... I 'believe' they also purchased regular sofa from furniture store. Don't know that for certain though.
Ok thanks for the info. Did you just wood screws to screw the new sofa back to the floor?

RE: Dutchmen Voltage Anyone have one?

Looking to upgrade to a 5th wheel TH. We were looking at the Keystone 383, but that seems to have been a one year only model and it might have been a little too heavy for our TV, so we are now looking at the Dutchmen Voltage 3200.
Does anyone out there have any of the voltage models and would like to comment on the good and or bad things that they have found with their model and or the company as a whole.
Wife and I just brought home our new Voltage 3200 last weekend. Haven't had a chance to camp in it yet, but as far as pulling the voltage over the Sydney Outback we had which weighed about 9,600 lbs. and the Voltage dry weight is around 11,600 lbs. I pulled it through the I-77 toll road of West Virgina and Virginia back to NC which has some pretty good hills on it. I could tell it was back there, but it pulled really well even with the weight difference. I really like all the features the RV has. I have to agreed the sofa sits HORRIBLE! We will be changing that out a little later. If anyone has any links to RV sofa websites that any of you have bought from that will work in the slide space at a good price please let me know.

RE: Virginia to add Tolls on I-95

Funny.....as I travel around these United States I find most toll roads are in worst shape :h
One of the reasons I try and use secondary/back roads as much as possible is due to horrible condition of interstates (and lack of scenery)......now I have another reason
LOL I agree! I traveled the I-77 Toll Road this past weekend pulling a 5th wheel both ways. North then south and it was the most rough stretch of road. It is very pleasing on the eyes to drive, but not on the vehicle or what you are pulling. Those concrete hwy's are just to rough. Doesn't really seem like the money's they are collecting is going to that highway for maintenance.

RE: Has anyone felt guilty with owning a nice toyhauler?

I feel God has Blessed us! We just traded our 2010 Outback 5th for a new 2012 Dutchman Voltage 3200 5th which is now our only monthly payment which we hope to have paid for by spring of 2012. I have 2 little boys and I want them to experience what I never had a chance to. My wife and I work hard to have what we do. By the grace of God he has given us a chance to have things our families will probably never have to enjoy. But we work really hard and budget all out expenses out every month and don't waste our money.

RE: Towing Ease - Trailer or 5th Wheel?

I haven't ever towed a TT before, but have towed many tag a long trailers. They do back a little easier, but as far as pulling I love my 5th. I've been pulling a 5th since February and have adjusted to it quickly. Easy to pull and making turns is a snap! :B

RE: Fuzion 302 toy hauler best price

Wife, kids and I drove from central NC to trade out 2010 Sydney Outback for a 2012 Voltage 3200 at Holman RV in Ohio to buy ours, which is about 9 hrs away for me. Luke Holman (saleman) was really good to deal with and repaired an issue we had noticed while we did the paperwork and also promised to have another issue fixed when we got back home. I will update later on that issue. I recommend them also. They have the best prices I've found anywhere.

RE: 2012 Voltage V3200 U-Dinette Sofa w/Extension

Well, I figured it out. I found the blow up mattress under the bed. I mean to tell you what. This thing is horrible! :( Very disappointed in the sofa bed. It doesn't even fit in the space. Why didn't they put in a pull out bed with a air mattress built in the sofa like in other campers. I will only use that thing in emergency situations. If anyone has any ideas on what they have done as an alternative sofa bed let me know.

2012 Voltage V3200 U-Dinette Sofa w/Extension

Just bought a new 3200 voltage and CAN NOT figure out how to turn the U-Dinette Sofa w/Extension into a bed? The dealers serviceman forgot to show me and I forgot to ask. It's hard to make sure you ask all the questions when you you have 2 toddlers running around excited. :) If anyone can help me out with some photos that would be great! Or really good detailed instructions. Thanks
