RE: Kodiak HTT - Don't buy one -

I had tires on my pop-up that lasted 8 or 9 years. I will watch the tires on my new hybrid though. Thanks for the heads-up.

RE: Newbie question: Water heater operation

The trailer manufacturers don't even install a battery master switch which is why we get so many "Why is my battery dead after two weeks of storage?" questions.

Hmm... I guess this is something else I need to install on my camper. Any particular switch I should use? Just connect the hot wire to the switch?

RE: Newbie question: Water heater operation

I installed a 30 amp 3 pole contactor that breaks 110 volt 12volt.A pressure switch is set at 30pounds.If no water pressure is there, contactor will not let water heater on.Also,I wired 110 volt to a seperate cord so I can use that 30 amps for other things. This seems like something the manufacturers should do for the water heater. A simple but effective prevention. Great idea.

Thanks. That is what must have happened. The element was on for a few seconds with no water and it burned up. I will check it out this weekend. Thanks alot!

Newbie question: Water heater operation

We purchased our new hybrid last fall and used it a few times. Each time we used the water heater I used the propane. Another camper told me the last time that I could be using electric to heat my water, and showed me a switch for this option. But the water never got warmer than "tepid". Is there a problem with my electric part of the water heater?
